Need a copy of warranty for Gateway M-1626 laptop

I need a copy of the warranty for my Gateway M-1626 laptop. I am filing a claim through AmX (extends warranty for an additional year) but they need a copy of the manufacturer's warranty before reimbursing me for the failed laptop. Do you know where I can get a copy?

Find the serial-number for your Gateway computer -- usually somewhere on the label(s) on the bottom.

Access Gateway's web-site:

and enter the serial-number, to get information, hopefully including "warranty-status" for your system.

I don\'t where you are situated but in the UK, the contract for a sale is between Purchaser and Vendor, it may be the same where you are so it may be worth going back to where you bought it (unless of course you bought it direct !!) as they may be able to help with more and different contact numbers. Also if they sold you the extended warranty, that warranty may be with an insurance company rather than the manufacturer, so you would need to contact them.

I have a gateway nv44 and it will on power on if the screen is in the right position. I have to hold down the power button and move the screen up and down until it come on. Then it works fine.

It sounds like you have worn, loose or cut wires at or near your laptops hinges. You need to contact gateway if it is under warranty or the purchase place if you have an extended warranty through them. If it's out of warranty you will have to find a technician that repairs gateway laptops or pay for gateway to fix it.

Have an extended warranty on my acer lap top internet port burned out trying to get it fixed bought on nov.25th 2008 and have and extended warranty until 11/25 2011 how do i file claim

You need to find out who your warranty is covered through. Example if you purchased it at Best Buy, then contact Best Buy and they will give you the warranty group information or help you setup the claim. Or if you have your extended sales information that you should have received at the time of purchase, you can refer to that also.

you may need to use a recovery disc. you can go to your computer company's website goto downloads and support and look for recovery discs. you should have two options: you can either download and burn copies from the internet or have one delivered.

Hello, my name is Sidney G, I have a Gateway M 1626, the problem i have is that it don't turn on, when I press the on/off bottom only the fan works and nothing else on the screen, nothing, how can I fix...

I think that the DVD Drive may be stopping the computer from booting. this happens when the drive fails, either through jamming or a worn out spindle. Firstly locate the retaining screw for the Drive which as I recall, is under the laptop and marked with a disc icon like an O with a spot in the middle.
Try booting the laptop again, see if you get any luck and note if there is still a noise. If this does boot ok replace the DVD drive.

If it does not boot, I think that there may be damage to the motherboard

I start the system but I only get the wave in the background no loggin screen. I have a 2 year warranty but I'm not sure where any of the paperwork is. Is there a way to look it up or have Sony look it up...

Sony does not directly offer extended warranties. The warranty is most likely through the store you purchased it from. You can try contacting the store you bought the PS3 from and inquire with them where you would need to call to file an extended warranty claim.

Have you tried this for a service. With the unit being this new, it's under warranty. Your sealed system is warrantied for 5 years. This is why you are having trouble finding someone to work on it plus Franklin Ind. does not want to pay the service company when they are sent the bill. Where are you located. If your close, i'll see what I can do about repairing it for you. Expect to have to pay for service from anyone due to the service company having so much trouble getting paid themselves. Although you should be reimbursed after Franklin pays.

My Gateway MX8711 Notebook PC won't boot up. It will come on and show the Gateway logo and then go to start windows normally? but won't boot up. Goes to blank screen and then nothing..........HELP!!!!!!!

I had bought my Gateway laptop with the extended warranty at Circuit City and was worried that the warranty wouldn't be honored due to them filing for bankruptcy but I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to locate the company (Assurant) who is handling their warranties and they helped me over the phone. They had me re-install my operating system. He wasn't sure why it needed to be re-installed and suggested maybe a corrupt file, etc. Anyhow, I ended up losing all of my files but am just glad to have it fixed.
