Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator
I went into the application Francais and the screen showed up but when I tried to exit out of the application it would not let me. When I pushed the 2nd button I saw a 6 appear on the top right hand side of the screen. When I pushed the down arrow I saw the number 4. I did this several more times until the number was down to 1. When I pushed the down arrow again, the calculator completely shut off. I've tried to connect to the computer and to another calculator to turn it on but it won't do anything. I've manually restarted it and it still won't work. Will you help me?
Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the DEL key. While holding DEL, reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display "Waiting...Please install calculator software now". Follow the instructions for the TI-83 family or TI-84 Plus family to reinstall the calculator operating system.

I believe your problem is actually your screen brightness, try this key combo [ON] [2nd] [UP], and HOLD IN UP. this should adjust the screen brightness back up and you should stop near 5. If you go above the desired level (screen becomes too dark) use the key combo [2nd] [DOWN] until you return to the desired brightness

You have made the lettering so light that you cant see it anymore. What you need to do is press the second key (then let go) and then hold dowm the up arrow until the numbers on the screen become dark enough for you to see them. You will see numbers flash in the top right corner, but they're just telling you how dark/light the numbers on the screen will appear. The normal setting is 5.

Take out all the batteries including the lithium one, and wait a minute... reinsert the batteries and immediately remove the francaise program (it's a waste of space anyway)
I would also suggest updating the OS on the calc because I think that bug was fixed in an update... I don't know though... I never used that program.

You adjusted the contrast on the screen.
To fix it just push the 2nd button and then the up arrow until you can read the screen.

Mine was a rechargeable and it would not recharge. I pushed the tiny reset button on the back with a small pin. It now recharges but the memory was wiped.
