Can;t use 2 headphones simultaneously on my Panasonic TV because it recognizes the same model number for both and will connect only one at a time, and disconnecting the other. Both pair fine.

Use a splitter cable to allow both to use a single output. This is a description from Amazon : Hosa YMM232 6-Inch Y Adapter, 1/8-Inch Stereo Male-Dual 1/8-Inch Female

Are there replacement ear pads that will fit on my 2005 Sony headphones ?

There are lots of generic (Chinese) replacement ear pads for Sony on ebay or Amazon, you'll just have to take some measurements and try to match what's available. Check the diameter in centimeters, and the shape (round or oval). You may not find a specific listing for MDR-RF960RK but a lot are interchangeable.

Hey! I have a problem with my sony MDR-RF81 headphones....when the bass is to loud...there volume is droping...when I listen to skirllex for example...the volume is high or low...but when the bass...

Hey there, the problem with your sony is not a hardware problem, the headphones are completely fine, its the amount of bass you are putting into the headphones, there are two solutions to this, if you're using a mobile device (Apple, android etc...), go to your app store and download an equaliser e.g poweramp, with this, you can adjust the sound going through to your headphones using the built in equalizer (usually 5-10 bands, research this if you have no knowledge of equalisers), you can use this to turn down the bass frequencies in the sound, or the only other thinkable options are if you are already have an equaliser in use, turn it down, because putting all of the bars to the top makes the sound horrible, research on some suggestions for equaliser presets (another word for equalizer settings), or just turn the volume down.

the reason this happens is because bass naturally overpowers treble, and if it is too loud, the treble and mids will be significantly quieter, headphones are a menace for this, so all you have to do is tweak the sound a little (using an equaliser) to find that perfect balance between the different elements of sound.:-) :-)

Hope this helped mate :-) :-)

I need replacement batteies for my sony headphones and can not find them

My headphones (after several years) got to where they would go dead in about 1/2 hour. I used Panasonic AAA H8 Ni-MH 630 mAh. They last longer and get much louder than the stock batteries. I was able to remove the old batteries without breaking the holder. They work better than new.

I have Model MDR-RF970R and the battery is not holding a charge. Where can I get another battery? The # on the battery is BP-HP550-11/2.4v 550mAh. Thanks. Joe

Sony has some special case they put around the original 2 batteries to hold them together.

You don't need to buy special batteries. You can put regular AAA NiMH in.

To remove the compartment cover on the headsets make sure you hold down the pressure button on the left headphone to release the cover. Mine has the words "PUSH" on them.

With the cover removed you can then see the original BP-HP550 sony battery. Which you can remove and put 2 regular AAA batteries in.

I have searched the web for this battery BP-HP550-11/2.4V (two batteries), to replace the ones in our Sony wireless stereo headphone system model MDR-RF970RK.

Even though you can use regular AAA batteries (that you would have to replace often), there is a huge convenience factor with using the charging cradle that comes with the Sony headset. A solution I found was that I ordered some 550 mAh AAA batteries through Ebay (they came from England and cost me $8 total for four batteries). To make them work (be able to be charged using the cradle) in the Sony headset you MUST use the bottom part of the plastic battery holder piece (all you need to do is peel off the BP-HP550-11 label and the bottom half of the plastic battery holder piece slips off of the Sony batteries). Then just slip in the new AAA batteries into the plastic battery holder bottom and then insert into the headset. The reason why you must use the bottom of the battery holder plastic piece is because the plastic piece pushes on a little switch. This switch activates the charging mechanism inside the headset to enable the cradle charger to charge the batteries.

NOTE: I am not an electronics expert so I do not know if there would be any problem using other rechargeable AAA batteries (with higher mAh ratings). So I decided to be safe than sorry and ordered the 550 mAh batteries through Ebay.
