Question about Heating & Cooling
Off the cuff, I would say no to being able to use any other indoor unit.
But, with a bit of work and research, you might be able to connect 2 systems, even if different manufacturers, together. The compressor / condenser, etc (outdoor unit) doesn't really depend on indoor unit in order to do its job. As long as the cooling capacity are matched between the two, the outdoor unit should function problem free.
Your unit is going to be a bit different though. Your compressor is a variable speed compressor (higher efficiency). The inverter is located inside the outdoor unit, but the controls are located inside the indoor unit. You *might* be able to remove the inverter completely and lose some efficiency. Once you start going down this path, you will quickly find that it would be cheaper to buy another unit altogether, rather than to keep paying for labor to modify, and additional / parts needed. This approach may be worthwhile if you already have an evaporator that is ready to go, and is appropriately matched as far as capacity.
May I suggest that you check with the hotels and motels that are in your area. These have been used in such places in the past, they are quite popular for retrofits where a large window was not in place, or appropriate. Maintenance departments typically keep a few units on hand for spare parts and such. I don't know how popular your model is, but it is worth a shot.
I did find some information that might help:
Spare parts are available here, shipping may be outrageous.
At the very least, you should be able to get part numbers for what you need.

Split A/C systems all work the same. The outside unit can be connected to any inside unit. You'll have to make sure they have similar ratings
