I have the same problem with my my Insignia 27in LCD. It shocked me when I turned it off and now it wont turn on. The blue light comes on, then alternates to red then blue. It is 2 months out of warranty now. I opened the TV and cannot figure where to start - all the parts look fine.

The TV has poor ESD protection, it just cycles the LED backlighting of the Insignia logo between orange and Blue, It will not turn, I have the same problem with the Insignia NS-27LCD. I am looking for a repair manual or Schematic to determine which part may have been destroyed by ESD near the power switch.

I have a insignia NS 27 LCD and about 8 months ago the TV wouldn`t turn on and we had a Tech come out and he replaced the board. Then it was working until we were watching TV and I got up to turn it off and got a schock and now the TV won't turn on again. I will never buy another INSIGNIA TV again and of course now it is out of warrenty.

Walked by to turn the TV off and it shocked me and now the TV will not come on. Just flashes red then blue. Cant believe after the power surges we had a yr ago and the TV worked fine that a simple shock from my finger would break it.

We have had our Insignia NS-LCD26A for 13 months and now it won't turn on. We brought it to the repair shop who told us the board is shot and would cost as much to replace as a new TV. I am in contact with the company to see it they can compensate even though the warranty is up by one month. Very upsetting. If the company does not stand by their product we will not be purchasing another Insignia. Would you?

  • fabn46 Mar 30, 2009

I have the Insignia LCD 37' and the same thing happened to me. I received a shock when turning it off now all I get is the flashing 'Please Wait' and it won't turn off unless I unplug it. The warranty expired just 2 months ago so Insignia referred me to the Geek Squad who want $150 just to walk in the door. Calling Insignia back and telling them about all the customers out there who have the same problem because their products apparently ****.

The tv has been shorted out. you will need to replace the power board easy to do just take off the back cover and its the only board right in the middle with the power wires on the bottom . there are 4 screws to remove and unplug and label the wires and replace put back together and should be good as new.
Please rate my answer its much apreceted

I also zapped my Insignia TV while turning it off, due to ESD (Electro Static Discharge) The TV really should have much better ESD protection. My Insignia logo also just blinks between orange and blue. I left a message on the Insignia tech support page but still haven't rteceived a reply after several days, other than the automated messaege telling me they are experencing a high call volume.

I took my TV apart and found the Power supply board 12 volt lines were strobing back and forth along with the orange/blue logo at 24 volts and near zero. I have a few parts on the power supply board that I am going to replace (34cents each). Hopefully these will take care of the problem. but its too early to be sure as the Power Supply uses the 5 volt sense line and problems could exist on that line or from a component on the board which the on off switch connects to. I will let you know more as I find out more. Let me know how things turn out with your tech. I have taken lots of pictures so if a solution is found I will be able to diagram the solution.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

How to remove the back from Insignia NS-32LCD?

I unscrewed all the screws in the back, detached the tv from the base, and was able to get the back off. I ordered a new power supply board and will install it to see if it fixes the problem with the tv (won't turn on, insignia light alternates between red and blue). I didn't notice any problems with "swollen" capacitors, so if the new power board fixes the problem I'll update this website.
