Hi,

Pls check that the sound card is enable or not in the system BIOS ,if not pls enable it .and check it ,if still not working pls check the audio cable from monitor to CPU its properly connected and check .if still issue then replace the audio cable with goods one .if still issue then check the sound driver and re-install.if every thing ok then issue with your sound card .call vendor for repair.

I want to make my monitor speakers play sound

Make sure that you have the cable plugged into the monitor and going to the computer if there is one. Some older model monitors operated that way.

Click Start/Control Panel and check your Audio/Sound properties to make sure the drivers are ok. Look for either sound or audio or device manager under the control panel.

Does the sound work for external speakers? Does the sound work for a headphone? Did the computer and monitor come together when you purchased it?

Sound not playing correctly via the speakers on the monitor Back ground music but no voice

sounds to me like you may have the monitor speakers connected to the wrong port. It typically connects to the computers Green speaker jack. If it is connected properly, look in the control panel for audio/ speaker properties, change the speaker configuration to stereo speakers, instead of 5.1 speakers. you are likely hearing the rear channel of 5 speaker setup at the moment.

When I plug the speakers into my computer they do not play the sound. I have windows 7 64 bit. The computer says there is sound but none plays through my speakers

You'll have to got into your control panel, audio sound devices and set them. It will mean drilling down through the menus, have a dig and a good look, you should be able to set them to your needs.

Also, ensure your audio drivers are up to date.

My computer will no longer play music or any kind of noise

Check that your speakers are plugged into the right jack either in your sound card or the sound panel on the motherboard. If no sound then try plugging speakers into another computer and see if they are working and have power. Go to "control panel" and click on "Sound and Audio Devices" and under the volume tab under Device Volume make sure that the "Mute" box isn't checked. Also check the "place Volume icon in the taskbar" box if it isn't already checked. Go to the Volume control on the task bar and check out the audio volume levels and make sure they're not turned all the way off. Also under "Sound and Audio Devices" underl Volume tab click on "Advanced" and make sure that you have selected the proper kind of speakers in the speaker setup box.

YOu didn't say so, so I'm assuming that you're using Windows XP. If you're not the menus may be a little different but similar.

No sound

Are you connecting the speakers to the green port on the sound card. If so, check in "Control Panel" that the P.C can see the sound card and that it is the "Preferred" play back device.

Can not get this monitor to play sound on PC using XP Version 5.1. a driver needed?

there is not a windows xp 5.1 so I am going to take a wild guess and you mean you want 5.1 surround sound

If your computer plays sound through its own speakers normally then you do not need a driver.
I took this from the FAQ
  1. Make sure the audio cable is plugged in to the back of the monitor and in to the Green port in the back of the computer.
  2. Press the Right Arrow button on the monitor itself and set the volume to 10.
  3. Double check your audio settings on your computer and make sure nothing is muted.
This is not one of the better monitors in this price range having only a VGA input but is suitable for most people.
