Question about Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7802 Notebook
Power light comes on, but the computer does not nothing. I can here the fan come on and the dvd drive works.
You need to Try plugging a desktop PC monitor into the serial port/vga on the laptop.. You're doing this to see if windows shows up on the external screen, if it does, you have Issues with your Display.. Which would be... The Display Panel or possibly the Display Cable
If No External Video....
You Have Video Issues .. Faulty Graphics/GPU Chip

Try disambling the system. Clean it with a wind blower. Check BIOS battery capacity. Replace if possible. Power on the laptop. Do you hear humming sound from hard disk ? If you hear sssssssshhhhh sound from hard disk; it's OK. Replace RAM with new one. If problem still exists Than change main board. Hope that not happen. Keep informing.

Without looking at it sounds like a dead motherboard. You should be able to take it to a local shop and have then check it out for about $35-$50
