Question about Apple iTunes

Itunes will not connect to the itunes store

My computer's itunes program will no longer connect to the itunes store after 3 years of working and yes I have a vaild internet connection
my lap top connects and it is on the same router.
It is (error 11222)and the firewall is enabling Itunes.

I don't know your iTunes version, if it is the latest version, I think it will work smoothly. And the current version of iTunes is 9.0.2, you can get it here:

Itunes radio mac 10.5.8 leopard doesn't work since Feburary 2014


You will need a version of iTunes that cannot run under Mac OS X 10.5.8. Because all operating system updates are now accomplished through the Apple App Store, you will need to upgrade at least to Snow Leopard (10.6.8) before you can continue to at least Mountain Lion (10.7.x) which can run a version of iTunes that supports the Radio service. Retail copies of 10.6.x are still available online. Please consult directly with Apple or with one of their "geniuses" at a retail store for more specific advice for your particular computer.

Also, please keep in mind that there are over 6 years of patches and updates involved, and it might take a day or more to download all of that, even over a high-speed connection.

Can you tell me how to de-authorise a computer that is no longer working from the home sharing on itunes. please


If the computer doesnt work at all, and you are up to the 5 limit for authorizations you can reset them all at once, this will de-authorize ALL of your computers and you will have to re-authorize the ones you want. If you have NOT reached your 5 limit you have to contact Apple to have the de-authorize a machine. (De-authorizing all machines can only be done once per year).

To use the first method (de-authorize all) do the following :

  1. Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
  2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
  3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
  4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

IF your computer still turns on, you can de-authorize just that computer by doing the following:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > Deauthorize Computer (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
  3. Select "Deauthorize Computer for Apple Account" and enter your Apple ID and password

In some rare instances, it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
  1. iTunes
  2. QuickTime
  3. Apple Software Update
  4. Apple Mobile Device Support
  5. Bonjour
  6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: You may see various alert messages if you uninstall these applications in a different order or only uninstall certain components.
For detailed steps on removing and reinstalling iTunes and related components on Windows XP, refer to the following steps:
Removing iTunes Note: iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
  1. Quit iTunes.
  2. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
  3. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove.
  5. When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
  6. After the uninstallation is complete, do not restart your computer if you are prompted to.
  7. If other program entries were listed for iTunes in Add or Remove Programs, remove those as well.
  8. In Add or Remove Programs, remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
Removing QuickTime
  1. Quit QuickTime Player.

  4. Select QuickTime from the list of currently installed programs, then click Uninstall.
  5. When asked if you would like to remove QuickTime, click Yes.

Removing Apple Software Update

Removing Bonjour

  3. Select Bonjour from the list of currently installed programs then click Uninstall.

Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled
  1. Restart your computer.
  2. After the computer restarts, open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on.
  3. Open the Program Files folder.
  4. Right-click the iTunes folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed.
  5. Right-click the iPod folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
  6. Right-click the QuickTime folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
  7. Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
  8. Open the Common Files folder.

after uninstalling the itunes, go to registry editor, find all itunes and other itunes related programs then delete it.also uninstall all itunes related software then restart your PC and install the itunes again.if this doesnt help try updating your OS for newer version of itunes.

ITunes cannot connect to iTunes store, the network connection was refused. What should I do ?


I had added a proxy to my internet explorer while trying to access another intranet. I always use Firefox so I didn't think it would matter if it was set to the intranet IP as the proxy, but apparently itunes and some other programs blindly copy the proxy settings from explorer and will stop working. everything was fixed when I disable the proxy in the connection tab.

Turn off your windows firewall and try connecting again.
If it connects then windows is the culprit.
It shouldn't be your iPod, but it definitely sounds like a firewall issue or an internet connection issue.

The windows firewall is pretty harsh when it comes to programs that they don't endorse.
also, If you want to keep your firewall on, open the security center and firewall, uncheck the box on the bottum to allow exclusion of http: site. It could be checked and only allowing exclusion of https: sites.

Can you check your wireless router ? Does it have RJ45 ,you can hook up your computer ,make sure ,network is ok. Then check your apple.

Yes it can, connect your iphone to your computer, at this point as soon as your computer recognizes the iphone itunes should open up.. if it doesn't just open it up yourself. Now on he left where all the playlists are there should be an icon with you iphone there, click on it. Now to the right there should be a tab labeled "music", click on it now you can select wether all your music will transfer over or just certain playlist. There you go.
