Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My wireless is gone, and does not show up in device manager

If your wireless adapter is not appearing in Device manager open the cover on the bottom of the lap top and make sure the wireless card is properly connected, next look for an external switch that might have been accidentally turned off. If everything is good then you may want to try a new wireless card for the PCMCIA Slot.

Missing registry entries for qualcomm adapter on acer aspire one

Since it appears that you still have your wired connection you need to go here ->

http://us.acer.com/acer-v2/service.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&miu10einu24.current.attN2B2F2EEF=3750&sp=page15e&ctx2.c2att1=25&miu10ekcond13.attN2B2F2EEF=3750&CountryISOCtxParam=US&ctx1g.c2att92=453&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=2054404012

to download the Qualcomm wireless driver software. You can then unzip and install the driver.
I would first go into Device Manager and uninstall the wireless driver if it exist to remove any leftover software. Tt should be under the network in Device Manager. If it is not there do not worry about it just install the new driver you downloaded.

XP does not recognize the Intel wireless network adapter

Dell has a known problem with driver conflic the best remedy is to right click on my computer click on property open hardware uninstall the driver there and restart the conputer but first make sure you download the driver from intel and burn them on a cd then when you reinstall you won't have to try to figure out if everything is downloading also in security make sure that you allow this site so that all the drivers download.
but most of the time if these driver are on a card that is micrsoft certified it will be in the driver file and will reload automaticly when you restart the computer after uninstalling and it should elimenate the driver conflic.

Instead of updating the drivers, try uninstalling the software and reinstall it using the updated drivers. Make sure that the hardware version match the drivers that you are using.
