Top of dryer and top rear panel gets very hot to the touch

Top of dryer gets very hot to the touch as does the back of the top panel. Could this be an overheat sensor? Where is it located?

No, it is your It is your element touching the housing. This will cause your element to stay on all the time. Try unpluging the dryer to see if the top cools down or through the breaker to the dryer.

Yes,check the hi-limit switch on the case of the element housing,it will have 2 heavy wires attached to it and it probably isn't opening up to let the heat element cycle, also check the heat cycling switch in the unit also this can be in the exhaust vent or numerous places to moniter heat for drying clothes

Dryer surface too hot to touch

this dryer is an electrical heated dryer i suppose, ask an electrician to check the heat sensor, for this should trigger the on and off switch of the heater according to the drying cycle you set your dryer.

The dryer isn't drying. The top an the control panel are very hot to the touch.

Hello Rodney.
What the most probable trouble with the dryer making it very hot to the touch while at the same time not drying is a poor air flow problem. That could a be a broken blower wheel,a blocked or restricted vent.

Clothes not drying but back panel of dryer extremely hot

Disconnect power. Next, you will have to remove the screws passing through the front panel into the front edge of the top so the top can be swung back. Remove the screw on each side near the top which are holding the front panel onto each side panel. Set the front panel off to the side. (most times you do not have to remove any wires to do this) Use your long thin arms to reach under the left side of the drum to unhook the drive belt. Now, you can remove the drum out the front of the dryer. Inspect the heating coils for breakage. Replace them with a new element set WE11x10007. (includes instructions, but don't stretch them as much as they say, so that you can leave a little tension on them as you install them. You don't want them too long) Replace the rear drum bearing WE3X75 to get rid of the squeak. Inspect the front drum slides (which support the drum at the top of the front panel) to see if they need replacement also.

Dryer makes squeaking noise

If it has not been squeaking for an extended time you can get by with just changing the rear drum sleeve bearing (WE3X75). To do this, open dryer door, remove screws going up into top, allowing top to swing up and back. Remove screw holding front panel to side panel near top just under where the top was. Tilt front panel forward and lift off bottom pegs. Swing to side (you don't have to remove wires). Pull drum forward about 6 inches. (you don't even have to remove the belt.) Change sleeve at center back of drum. Make sure to inspect the front drum support slides WE1M481dark ones and WE1M333 white ones (about 1/2 inch x 2.5 inch strips at the top of the front panel which support the front of the drum), as about the time the rear bearing goes, these may be wearing also, especially the one on the left side.
