Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier
I've lost my manual. Does the red light that looks like a cylinder or "drum" indeed mean I need a new drum rather than ink cartridge? Barbara
The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.
I hope this helps.
