Make sure to look at the Manuals tab. Scroll down for the User Guide. The direct link to the manual appeared as https://docs.sony.com/release//DSCW30-W40-W50-W70.pdf in my browser history.

Hi! It's a flash error. Could be flash fuse or flash board. If you have a multimeter and you're ready to open it, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact your local Sony service center. I work in a Sony service center.
When “FLASH error” (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : ** ) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the
flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting.
After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the Setup screen.
Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting.
1 Select [OK] with v on the control button, then press z.
The message “Initialize all settings Ready?” appears.
2 Select [OK] with v, then press z.
The settings are reset to the default setting.
• Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.
It's flash error. Could be a dead flash fuse on the main board or bad flash board. Contact your local Sony service center, but
if they ask too much, you can contact me at email@example.com
and I will give you a good price.

I've had my dsc w50 for about 2.5yrs and its just started the same milarky! Go to menu, set up 1 and re-initialise, it cleared for me then came back again. Went through the same process just now and error has gone for time being, although I think the flash is on its way to heaven. Some pictures are dark and others completely white out!!
Taking it in to the sony shop tomorrow to see if they can lend any advice - I hope it doesn't mean a new camera as I've not over used it....
