Replaced lamb, tv is still very dim`. what next?

Some of these sets use two mirrors--this may be one of those. Other than the large mirror in the back of the set--there may be a tiny mirror at the bottom.

Some idiot had the bright idea of having the optical lens put the picture into the smaller mirror which placed it on the large mirror. If this is the case that tiny mirror will be covered with dust and dirty.

Only one way to find out. You have to remove entire front screen unit to see if it has the tiny mirror. I can tell you how.

Icons appear too large and have to scroll screen. I cant see the bottom of screen or apps. I can move it up or down slightly to see, but this just started today. It's like you want to want to srink it just...

The better answer to this is to put two or three fingers on the Iphone at once and tap 2 or 3 times.

If you hold more than 1 finger on the screen for too long, the icon will become large.

Green power light comes on, the turns right back off. No picture. Please help

I'm not sure what TV model you have. But, thing I can tell you is the most common problem.
Most of the time with flat panel TVs, the power supply for the screen fails. And the TV normally turns itself off to protect other parts in the TV from being damaged. Basically " Protection Mode".

You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself; then try again turning it on. If it doesn't work after that, it's time for the TV repair shop.

Dim and Wavy Picture

Your TV most likely has one or more possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

Screen has gone black

This thing's gotta go to the shop. Don't poke around back there, very high voltage. Check around for a reputable tv repair shop. If it's real heavy, maybe you can find someone who makes house calls?
