You will need an adapter. Probably a USB to SD Card reader.
The manual for the Computer is at the link listed.

It could be that you have not insert the memory sticks in correctly this can result in not screen.
1. check to see if you have the memory sticks seated in their slots correctly.
2. remove the hard drive and re - insert it into the hard drive slot.

My Inspiron 1525 does not recognize the memory I added. It had 3GB, I removed the 1GB and added a 2GB. When it did not register the additional memory, I put the old one back in and it now does not...

Once you change the ram, you have to boot to the system setup so that the BIOS can recognize the new module.
When inserting the ram module in the slot, it should be at a 30 degree angle to the system and inserted till the golden contacts can not be seen looking straight down at the slot. Then press the module down until the retention clips click. The top edge of the contacts should then be barely visible.
Once the RAM has been properly inserted, then boot to the system setup, exit then boot to windows

I insert a sd/mmc card in the slotwhich is same as

Sounds like the drivers might be missing which is why there is no response.

Depending on which operating system your running on the laptop will determine what file you download.

Go to this page:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=VOS_N_1500&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Choose your operating system, either XP or Vista and then under where it says chipset choose Ricoh Driver and download now. choose download by internet browser. Save it to the desktop if possible and then run the file so it installs.

If you go thru installing the drivrr and the card is still not being read by the laptop then the motherboard is bad.

How can i use sd/mmc memory card reader on my laptop? ia am using dell inspiron 1525 model?

The SD/MMC memory slot is already configured to read standard and HDSD cards. Just remove the DELL blank from the slot by pushing it in until it clicks and release it. Then pull it out. Insert the SD/MMC card into the slot and push it in until it clicks. The DELL Blank is shorter than an actual SD/MMC card, so don't try to push the SD/MMC card any further than the 'click'. Remove by pushing in until it clicks, release, remove.

Have a dell Inspiron 1525 notebook with memory card reader, compatible with Memory Stick Pro - but i cannot figure out how to insert the memory stick into the memory card reader - an SD card slots in...

the MS pro may need an adapter if it's the mini kind. then that will plug into that slot. it still won't fit the same way as the SD card, so insert it carefully. there should be an indented area for the MSP card to insert.
