Type ipconfig /release, then type ipconfig /renew and it will give you new ip address.
You can always unplug your router for 10 seconds and then plug back in to release the static buildup that occurs in many routers.

Can you tell me the default IP address for this unit as I have lost the pass word and need to reset the unit

If your computer is plugged into the router, you can easily get the router's IP address by going to your command prompt and typing "ipconfig" without the quotes.

Command Prompt is under Start (or Orb if using Win7 or Vista) > All Programs > Accessories

After typing "Ipconfig" and hitting return, command prompt should display something like this:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . :
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . :
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter PdaNet Broadband Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

The router's address is your "Default Gateway." You should be able to put that address into an Internet Explorer window and it will bring up the configuration interface.

Trying to access to or but all it saids is internet explorer cannot display website.

It means that IP address is not your router's default gateway.
To check for the routers default gateway
1 Go to Start 2 Click Run (XP), Word to be typed is ipconfig 3 Scroll up on the command prompt and you will see your default gateway, now try accessing that
For(Vista, Win7) 1 Type cmd in the search box, hit enter 2 Type ipconfig in the command prompt 3 Scroll up to check the Default Gateway
I hope this helped.

My wireless network is unsecured

Check the default gateway address (router's address). Go to start>run. Type cmd and hit ok. In the command prompt. Type ipconfig. Take note of the default gateway address under the wireless section and type it in the address bar of internet explorer. It should take you to your router's settings page. If it asks for a password. Let me know the model of your wireless router.
