If you see the pop up "Please wait while windows configures..." when you open an application, it means that an important module of the program is damaged or missing. First determine the application that this is happening with, and then completely uninstall/reinstall the program. If it continues to happen, you will need to have a professional look at the installation.

Whats (Failure configuring Windows updates Reverting changes Do not turn off your computer.

windows configures windows systems with each new update for that windows system
if you have the update installed automatically as they become available then the computer has to suspend operations while the updates are put into the operating system
That means that a new registry is created and the program placed accordingly on the hard drive
it requires that the computer be left on until that is achieved and will in some instances shut down and then restart the computer to effect certain changes
It is imperative that when this is happening that you leave the computer turned on and leave it alone as any programs you open may become corrupted or corrupt the existing programs
you will normally get this notification on shutdown which will shutdown when finished and on opening next time so that the previous download can be configured into the computer properly
it just means that you have to wait for the computer to do ti's thing

Tired children install software or questionable programs that run you prefer they left to themselves? AppLocker is a new feature of Windows 7, which ensures that users can run programs that you specify. Do not worry, it is easier to configure than it sounds: you can create a rule to allow all signed by a certain publisher, choose Microsoft is, and that a rule can perform all Microsoft programs signed. I have just bought a second hand Compaq 5185 keyboard and I would like to know how to configure the special top buttons. Some work, others don't.

Certain models of HP desktop computer come with an "Internet Keyboard" packaged in with the other equipment. This Internet Keyboard differs from a regular keyboard in that it has a series of buttons along the sides that allow you to do things like open your Web browser with the tap of a button. You can reassign the actions to these keys and reprogram it away from its default settings using your Control Panel.

Click "Start." Click "Control Panel." Click "Keyboard." Click the "Hardware" tab, then click the "Properties" button. Click the listing for the Internet keyboard key you want to change. In the "Target" box, select the program you want that key to open. Click "Apply." The specified key will now open the specified program. Repeat this step for all of the other keys on your Internet keyboard that you want to configure.

Create Exceptions in Windows Vista Firewall

Windows Vista Firewall acts like a fence between your computer and the outer world, but since any fence needs a gate, you have to let some data get in and out by setting exceptions. While some exceptions are set up automatically by Windows Vista, others have to be configured manually Setting a manual exception for a certain program.
 1. Click Start and enter the Control Panel
 2. Here, access the link called "Allow a program through Windows Firewall" (bellow the Security). exceptions1.png
 3. Go to the General Tab, and make sure that the option "On (recommended)" is selected. If not, enable it (this will enable the firewall). exceptions2.png
 4. Go to the Exceptions tab at the top.
 5. To add a program you to your exception list click Add Program (near the bottom). exceptions3.png
 6. A list with the programs on your computer is displayed. Locate the program, highlight it and click OK. exceptions4.png
 7. Be sure that the check box besides your program is checked, then click OK exceptions5.png
Other tips
The most powerful addition to the Vista Firewall is the excellent Rules system. This allows you to enable traffic only in certain conditions, just like opening a gate only for people dressed in white, but they will only be allowed to enter.
 • to specific computers and users
 • to many different protocols (not just TCP and UDP)
 • to both local and remote ports
 • to specific interface types: location area network, remote access, or wireless
 • to specific Vista services
Despite the vulnerability claims, a well configured Vista Firewall is much more capable than all its predecessors, and despite the fact that nothing is perfect, everything starts from you, the user behind the screen.

if you're using windows XP (like me), try this:
open the configuration window, at least as far as possible. then enter the task manager, right click the wacom tablet configurator and choos "maximize". no perfect solution, as you have to do it everytime you want to change something, but still better than nothing.

Start up problem

It appears that Service Pack 2 did not completely install. Try to boot into safe mode (F8 at startup). If you can, go to control panel, then add/remove programs. Scroll all the way down, select Windows XP Service Pack 2 and click "remove".

After it's removed, you will need to reboot, but the system should come up normally after that.

Hope this helps - please remember to rate :)
