My Sansa E260 screen is too white

go to the settings of your MP3 player and check for contrast or Brightness. Lower either or both of these to get a dimmer screen(Brightness) or a less whited out screen(contrast)

Mp3/mp4 given to me, no manual tho, has the charger, seems generic, no co. name, black face w/ screen, silver backing type of model, thanks very much!

The screen isn't actually black when the player isn't turned on, more of a dark grey color. I say this because it's actually possible for the player to turn the screen darker when it's turned on ... the lettering on iPod menus is darker than the background color.

I would recommend that you try to reset the player, but given that it sounds like it's one of those Chinese clones of an iPod, and not an iPod itself, I don't know how you'd reset it. Most MP3 players can be reset by sliding and holding the power switch into the "on" position for some number of seconds (try 20), then releasing it.

IPod screen does not display and is all white but plays music

hello, Was someone messing around with the Contrast settings? If so, the Contrast may be set so low that you can't see the information on the iPod's screen. The only way to reset your iPod back to the factory defaults (including the Contrast setting) is to let the battery drain all the way out. Do whatever it takes to let the battery die then let the iPod sit overnight to be safe. Then the next morning, charge the battery and turn the iPod on. The first thing you should see is a screen asking you to select your language. If you can see your screen now, congratulations, this did the trick. If not, you probably need a new screen.

Display Hard to See

No - it's bright out there. Bright light, like a full sun on the beach, dims your perception of the screen. You can check the back light settings, but bright light is going to mess with this kind of lcd screen.

The screen turned a sort of white color you can kind of see whats going on but its really pale-ish. I checked the settings and it's not the contrast.

Connect it to the PC and reformat the device... This will put it back to the original state so you will then have to reload your media
