Probably, it is true.

You could spend $60 at a different local shop, to get the same diagnosis, or you could invest that $60 into buying a new HP printer.

Try to buy one that uses the same ink-cartridges as your current printer.

The print heads are not replaceable unless you know what you're doing. Even if you did know what you're doing, you need another bad printer of that series to exchange the print heads. It is easier to just buy a new printer that uses the same 02 ink you're used to, especially if you have a CISS system.

I'm getting an error 0xc18a0001 on my hp 3210 printer. What does it mean? How do i fix it?

Hello,

That code indicates the the printer has the "Ink System Failure" error. This is usually reset-able. That error is normally caused by air in the ink cartridge system. To clear the error you will need to do a purge. We have a free complete guide to perform the purge at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Will print one copy and then says ink systen has failed unalble to copy, fax or print error 0xc05d1381

Hello,

The "ink system failure' is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. This happens if you fully run out of ink in a cartridge and the printer sucks up air instead of ink or if you use a poorly filled ink cartridge that has air bubbles. You will need to do a ink tubes purge routine to clear the error. We have a step by step guide to perform the purge posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ The procedure takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Ink on backside of paper

Same problem appeared with mine, but one month out of warranty. Black streak of varying intensity up to 6mmm wide on reverse of sheet being printed. Repeated reuse of the "Bottom Plate Cleaning" utility (60 to 70 times) did not solve the problem. Seems the problem lies with the pipe that carries waste ink from the purging dock to the middle of the machine where there is a large ink absorbent sponge. This pipe (or tube) blocks up and excess ink then builds up, eventually ending up on the back of the paper being printed. Canon support refuses to accept that this is a design fault, and claims that it is a "mechanical fault" , not their fault as the warranty has run out. There may be an 18-month warranty in parts of the US, but for the rest of us it is 12 months. Took the machine to the local Canon-authorised repair shop who charged EUR80 to unblock the pipe. There was no breakage or other mechanical fault. It will block up again, and there is nothing you can do about it - just grin and pay the repairman. It is amazing that a defective design such as this is allowed to be offered in the shops.
