I called the Fax number and I get like two rings, like is an anwering machine. Then I waited to see if there was anything else and I can hear lots of noise and then two beeps.

I called the number from my cell phone and I get two regular rings, not like a fax machine should sound. Then I waited to see what else I heard lots of noise and also two beeps about 30 - 45 seconds apart.

Have you also tried calling your fax number from a different phone? Perhaps a cell phone or from a different location to see if you get the "handshake" tones?

Describe 'Lots of noise'.....was it static? Or high pitched varying tones (also known as handshake) Normally the two beeps are after the 'handshake tones' which means that the fax is awaiting an answer from sending machine. If you don't mind, email me your fax number so that I can hear exactly what you are hearing. tswiercinsky@yahoo.com

Something's not right with the way it is hooked up. Are you running thru a phone system, per say, pbx or other simiular system? Faxes need a direct line or dedicated line within a business. Can you find a line to plug into that is not an extention? Then find the number for that line. Then eMail me back that number, please. Tim

Make sure that the telephone line from the wall is plugged into "LINE" and not "PHONE" on the fax machine. You might also call the fax number from a different phone to see if you can hear the fax tones.

Paper jam sending faxes

It is the document stop arm that is broken. You can remove it.The machine will work without it.
Just make sure you remove the document stop arm and not one of the other sensor flags in the document feeder.

To send a fax you do not need to enter anything into your fax. You have to make sure that you connect the telephone line to it's desgnated connector. You dial a number to send as if you are calling form a normal phone. If you ever get a ringing tone press start. You can enter any data trough the data registration after you make sure your fax is functioning properly.

Most probably you have the machine set to "manual receive." Change the receive mode to "auto" or "Fax" mode.
