Belkin N150 routerlooses connection when microwave oven is turned on.

HI ..,
The router would drop the wireless signals if you have any cordless phone,microwave.. .. so keep the router a little far away from the kitchen and wireless devices .. or else you can try changing the wireless channel to no 11 or 9 or 6 are the best wireless channel below is the steps

Wireless routers can broadcast on several different channels, similar to the way radio stations use different channels. In the United States and Canada, the three main channels are 1, 6, and 11. There are more channels on the router, but they "overlap." Similar to how you'll hear interference on one radio station while another is perfectly clear, sometimes one wireless channel is clearer than others. You don't need to change your computer's configuration, because it automatically detects the router's new channel.
In order for a wireless device to connect to a wireless network, it must know the network name, or SSID (service set identifier). If you plug your wireless router or access point in and leave the default SSID, it won't take long for an attacker to determine what the SSID is.
To change your channel and SSID:

  1. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the router.

  2. Open a web browser on the computer.
  3. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1 and press Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit.

  5. Click on "Channel and SSID" in the left-hand column under the Wireless heading.

  6. The router may be set to auto for the channel selection. This means that the first time the router is powered on, it will automatically select the channel that has the least amount of interference. As surrounding networks are added, the initial channel may become crowded. Use the drop-down list and select a new channel for your router.
Note: Channels 1, 6, or 11 are the best selections.

  7. After setting the channel, select the SSID box by clicking in it.

  8. Type a name that is familiar to you. This is the name of the wireless signal on which your router will broadcast.
  9. Once these changes have been made, click the "Apply Changes" button toward the bottom of the screen.

I can't get the radios to communicate with eachother, they have power and chirp when I press the talk button but nothing is being received.??? They look like the EM1000 model of Motorola radios. The FCC...

These are multi-channel FRS / GMRS radios. In order to receive transmitted signals from the other radio, they both must be set to the same Channel and the same Interference Eliminator Code. One without the other will keep audio from being heard on the receiving radio.

I suspect you need to refresh yourself with the radio's controls and settings. If you have lost the manual, you can get a copy free of charge from Motorola You'll need a free program called Adobe Reader to view it.

Once you have everything - look at the right hand side of page 1 for "Talking and Listening" followed by "Menu Options" to set the radios up correctly. Keep in mind that if VOX is selected, and there is sound near both radios, they both will transmit at the same time - since the radios receive OR transmit at any given time, no audio will be heard from either.

Please rate this reply if helpful & good luck!

Just like you'll sometimes hear interference on one radio station while another is perfectly clear, sometimes one wireless channel is clearer than others. Try changing your wireless router's channel through your router's configuration page to see if your signal strength improves. Lost audio on channels 25 and 40

Check your sound settings. It's possible that you have settings set to something those 2 channels can't handle. Interference on those 2 channels could also kill the sound.

You can find the manual here http://www.giantintl.com/motorolafrsold.htm by using the menu to select your radio model.

You most likely will need to program your radios to match one another. Pay special attention to the interference eliminator code and the the Qt filter (if any). Both radios must match perfectly to communicate.

You need to check your programming of both frequency and interference eliminator. You may not have your radios set to match one another.

I receive a radio channel in one of the outputs of the preamp

I would use sheilded wire on the mic with the least amount of cable. You can relocate the pre amp with aluminum foil wrapped around the pre amp. also turn the gain on the mic down as to eliminate any interference from your strong radio station nearby. Randy
