Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer
I am getting an error message "drum full of waste toner". Do I have to replace the whole drum unit?
I have no idea what ikkenom is smoking.
The Drum Cartridge unit is as user-replaceable as a toner cartridge.
Yes, you will have to replace the drum cart.
Dell wants $169 for this part. Here's what it does:
* Applies toner to the page
* Provides a usable life of up to 42,000 page impressions (up to 10,500 pages per color)
Overview The Imaging Drum Kit from Dell is specifically designed for use with Dell Color Laser Printer. This kit includes an imaging drum and instructions on how to replace it. It applies toner to the page and offers a usable life of up to 42,000 page impressions (up to 10,500 pages per color). The part number located on this toner cartridge is: P4866
Manufacturer Part# : M5065

It comes with very detailed instructions on how to remove the old cartridge and install the new one. Very easy, but there's no way around the price tag.

This is not a "user-replaceable-part".
Take the printer to a qualified technician, and pay him/her to trouble-shoot.
