Before replacing the element, have you checked the thermo switch to see it is working ? If you have this is what you need to do.
To replace the element you will need to remove the rear cover and then remove the element box ( a oddly shaped metal box ) that contains the element, then replace the element inside it by bending tabs that hold it in or ceramic parts that hold the wires off of the metal depending on the model you have. there are only 2 wires that are connected to the element.

My dryer works properply but doesn't heat

Disconnect power . Remove the panel from rear of dryer . On the long aluminum housing , close to the top , will be a small thermostat piece . Either check this piece for continuity or jump those 2 wires togather and reconnect the power . Check to see if dryer heats . If heats , pt # 279816 is the part you need . Both parts in the kit , must be replaced . If the dryer does not heat , disconnect power , reconnect the wires and check the element with an ohm meter . The wires for the element , are the 2 wires at the bottom of the housing . If no continuity , pt # 279838 is the element number .
