How do I reset the printer to read ink levels as full on manually re filled cartridges??

Hi,

Remove the Cartridges and the Printhead. When you remove the Cartridges, you can find a latch on right side on the Cartridges slot that you need to lift and lift the Printhead.

Turn off the printer and Turn on

Take a link free cloth and clean the electrical ( golden ) contacts on the printhead and Cartridges. and install the Printhead and Cartridges.

The printer will go through alignment process and it should say alignment successfull. This displays the ink level

Sean

E5 what does this mean and how can I get out of it?

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Error E5 means that the ink cartridge is not installed or the ink cartridges is not installed properly or may be
non-supported ink cartridge is installed.
It may also mean that if you have both cartridges in printer one or both are failed. To solve this problem check print cartridges and replace first color, if not help replace black ink. Install the appropriate fine cartridge and also If the lines are misaligned or resulting output is not satisfactory, carry out the fine cartridge alignment and make it aligned.

I hope this solution helps you

Hello.
New cartridges that are not HP brand can sometimes give these errors. If they are HP brand then the issue is with the sensor that reads the cartridges "chip" The ink levels are not read like the fuel in your car, there is a page counter on the cartridge and when it hits 0 then it assumes there is no ink. So the issue seems to be it is not reading the chip correctly. Try removing all the cartridges. turn the printer off for 10 mins and replace the cartridges 1 by 1. This can sometimes correct the issue. If not the pins that read the cartridges chip can be checked for dirt of dry ink that may be interfering with the pins touching the cartridge. these pins are in the Cartridge holder for each colour, inside the printer. use a torch to see them properly.
Good Luck. Regards GM

Hi, replaced ink cartridge on Lexmark X2470. Now it goes as far as the "print alignment page" and freezes. Will not print the alignment page or any other page for that matter. Thanks.

Hello. The ink cartridge may not be seated properly in the carrier. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Clean the nozzles using a damp paper towel. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When the printer asks for the cartridges, reinsert the cartridges. Also, make sure you're using the compatible ink cartridges for the printer. Let it print the alignment page all the way without cancelling it to align the cartridges properly. Hope this helps.

Hi I just replaced the ink cartridge on my 210c printer and it still reads near empty on all. Is there something I need to do to reset? Wendy

If you have already run the deep cleaning utility and alignment utility, it sounds like you may be using aftermarket/refilled cartridges. The nozzles and ink sensors may be clogged.

To clear the sensors and nozzle, install new OEM cartridges, run deep cleaning a number of times (at least 3 times), and then the alignment utility.
Aftermarket/refilled cartridges do not always meet the manufacturer's specifications for quality. Try cartridges from LDproducts.com for your printer. I've never had a problem with their aftermarket cartridges.
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

Rx680 epson ink cartridge error

I was changing my cyan cartridge and got this error. I thought for sure it was that cartridge. Tried a few things including pulling them all out and putting them all back in. Didn't work.

Finally, I found a place in the software that showed the info on all the cartridges. Turned out the light cyan was not reading. Took it out and rubbed the contacts with a pencil eraser. Voila! Problem solved.

Dell 922 printer alignment problem-

try this...

Aligning Ink Cartridges Your printer automatically aligns the ink cartridges when they are installed or replaced. To verify your ink cartridges are aligned, you can print an alignment page. After you close the printer unit, press the Menu button. The alignment page begins printing. During printing, the operator panel display reads Alignment Page Printing. When complete, the message reads Auto Alignment Complete. Your ink cartridges are now aligned for optimal print quality.
You may also need to align ink cartridges when characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin, or when vertical or straight lines appear wavy.
To align the ink cartridges:
  1. Load plain paper. For more information, see Loading Paper.

  2. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 922® Dell Printer Solution Center.

  3. Click the Maintenance tab

  4. Click Align to fix blurry edges.

  5. Click Print.

The ink cartridges align when the page prints.

If this helps you plz rate this fixya. Thank you kindly. If you need more help post it & I'll be glad to do what I can.
