When the temp gets to about 40F or below neither the remote or the door switch will activate the door to close; only if you continue to hold the door switch will the door close - opening works fine. Can you help?

A few things to consider. What is he temp in the FF side of the unit? Putting a thermometer in a glass of water overnight on the bottom shelf should read 40F in the morning. If that's fine its cooling properly. Assuming your not opening and closing the doors excessively, you could have a leaking/bad door gasket or the interior light door switch has failed and is stuck in the on position, which would make the interior temp slowly rise. To check the door gasket, close the door on a dollar bill (at various places around the doors), slowly pull out the bill you should feel good resistance,, if it pulls out easily or no resistance is felt the door gasket is bad or door is misaligned. Also don't forget door gaskets and sealing surfaces need to be checked and cleaned regularly for them to seal properly.

most cars its very close to the thermostat, in fact below it.
it has more then 1 pin.
use any scan tool to see the output of the ECT
if last night was say 40f, then in the morning the ECT reads 40f
(just key ,no start you can read it ,hood closed.)
then start engine, and let it warm up 100% (drive 10miles works best) then it must read 180F or more. and HOLD there all times running.. if not ?you have cooling system failure.

If this is the Prestige 997C, there is a remote starter disable feature that can be activated through the programming switch. When it is active it will display "inhibit' on the screen. To deactivate this feature, press and hold programming switch, turn key on, off, on, off, on then off. When the hood pin switch is not making contact with the hood when closed, the screen will display inhibit. When the brake shutdown wire is active the screen will display inhibit.

CLOSE ALL DOORS INSERT KEY INTO IGNITION.DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH.PRESS AND HOLD DOOR LOCK SWITCH IN THE UNLOCK POSITION.SWITCH THE IGNITION ON OFF ON OFF.RELEASE DOOR LOCK SWITCH.SYSTEM SHOULD NOW LOCK AND UNLOCK VECHICLE INDICATING PROGRAMMING MODE ACTIVATED.PROCEED AS FOLLOWS.NOTE EXISTING REMOTE TRANSMITTER MEMORY POSITIONS WILL BE OVERWRITTEN.PRESS AND HOLD LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS ON THE FIRST REMOTE TRANSMITTER FOR 15 SECONDS.SYSTEM WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK VECHICLE INDICATING REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMED.REPEAT ABOVE PROCEDURE FOR EACH REMOTE TRANSMITTER.IF THIS DONT HELP DEALERSHIP HAS TO REPROGRAM REMOTE.

Close all the doors
Put the key into the ignition switch
Press and hold the DOOR unlock switch
Cycle the key On/Off, On/Off
Release the DOOR unlock switch, the doors will lock and unlock to cinfirm program mode
Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote at the same time for about 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the remote is programmed. Repeat this step for up to 4 remotes ( note: all remotes need to be programmed at the same time, re-programming one will de-activate the others)
Turn the key to the RUN position to exit programming mode
Check your remotes to see if they function properly.

PROGRAMMING
Method One
Sit in driver's seat
Close all doors
Press and HOLD UNLOCK button on door lock switch.
Insert and remove ignition key twice. Do NOT turn ignition switch
Insert ignition key a third time and leave it in the ignition switch. Do NOT turn ignition switch
Release door lock switch.
A chime will sound three times indicating remote programming active
Press and HOLD the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on each remote for 5 seconds
A chime will sound twice for each remote: indicating successful programming
Remove the key from the ignition switch to exit programming
Method Two
Remotes can be programmed using diagnostic equipment.

If you hold the wall button down and the door closes the problem is photo eyes.

SYSTEM OPERATION

System warning lamp located on top of the instrument panel
Press UNLOCK button once , turns on interior lamps and deactivates alarm (if fitted)
Press UNLOCK button twice w/in 5 seconds unlocks all doors, turns on interior lamp and deactivates alarm (if fitted)
To activate alarm system (if fitted):
Switch ignition OFF
Open driver's door
Press Lock button on remote
Close Driver door
warning lamp will flash when system is activated
Press remote power sliding door button will open sliding door (if fitted) only if unlocked first
Pressing remote panic button:
*Sounds horn intermittently
*Flashes exterior lamps
*Turns on interior lamps
**Pressing panic for the second time OR switching ignition ON deactivates alarm.


PROGRAMMING
Remobe key from ignition switch
Remove the "BCM PRGRM" fuse, from the fuse box
Close all doors
Turn ignition switch to the ACC position
With in 1 SECOND , turn the ignition switch to OFF then back to 'ACC'
(really, with in one second)
Open and close the driver's door. A chime will sound, indicating programming mode activated
Press and HOLD LOCK and UNLOCK SIMULTANEOUSLY untill a chime sounds 2 times ( about 15 seconds)
Repeat this exact procedure for all remotes to be programmed
Remove key from ignition
Refit 'BCM PRGRM' fuse.
