Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
When the machine fails the POST test, it turns off. that usually indicates the CPU is not seated correctly, or the CPU has a problem. However, since you said it runs OK once it starts, that leads me to think you have a bad system board. System boards typically go bad gradually, but sometimes they just fail. Also, if you are using a docking station, you are introducing another factor that can cause system board failure. Docking stations eat motherboards and in my opinion, should NOT be used unless its permanently attached.
