Have a belt sqealing and antifreeze in the engine

Have a belt sqealing and antifreeze in the engine bay on a 1997 230c mercedes sounds like sqeal is coming from the rear of the motor? Belt on front is intact. Motor did heat up? Can't see anything obvious except for the small amout of coolant in engine bay.

Hi:
There is a good chance your waterpump bearings failed, and your belt was getting dragged over the drive pulley. Since your engine got hot, the impeller that moves coolant could have broken, so you should investigate that. The coolant could have leaked out the weap hole on the front of the water pump.

Testimonial: "Ikind of thought it was the water pump but cannot locate it,must be in the back of the motor?"

I got antifreeze on by belt now my power steering is noisy and stiff when i turn my wheels

If the belt got soaked ...It will be a while to get the anitfreeze to dry out... You will have to get a new belt and clean the pulleys with alcohol.

05 legacy sqealing sound when I'm stopped and turn

All symptoms of a loose or worn drive belt. As the belt wears, it develops slick spots that slip instead of grab. Since the main drive belt drives the power steering and alternator, this would be consistent with your issue.

2008 escalade sqeals. Had the belts changed but didn't help. Only happens when moving. Mechanic can't figure it out!

just check first that which belt sqeals, if its the AC belt then your compressor might b hard so replace it and if its the other belt then jst check your pulleys and bearings they might have gone hard.. if u can replace them its the best but if u can not then simply apply some grease on the belt which is sqealing.. thanks
