Try powering off your laptop by removing the battery and power cable off.

Now while the power cable and battery are off the laptop, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds (You are doing a power drain by this)

Put the battery back on and boot up the laptop - See if that helps.

Let me know here. Thanks.

Peace

MY POINTER WILL NOT WORK WHEN I AM LOGGED IN

If you have a laptop did you accidentally lock your mouse-pad? Some pcs will have the mouse-pad lit up slightly when available for use, but when it isn't it might seem duller. Some computers only need a double tap in a specific area of the mousepad to lock it and, if you are not paying attention or aware of the spot, it could accidentally happen. Make sure this is not the case and, if this is not the case, try to provide more details as to what you mean by "not working while logged in" versus, does it work while on but not logged in?

Why won't my hp elitebook 8540p speakers work while in the docking station, connected only to external mouse and monitor?

You can switch audio playback between the docking station and your Surface speakers. Here's how:
Step 1: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.) Step 2: In the search box, enter manage audio, and in the search results tap or click Manage audio devices. Step 3: Next, do one of the following:
  • To play audio through the audio port on the docking station, tap or click Speakers (CNXT Audio).
  • To play audio through the Surface speakers:
    • On Surface Pro 2 or Surface Pro 3, tap or click Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio).
    • On Surface Pro, tap or click Speakers (2-High Definition Audio Device).
Step 4: Tap or click Set Default, and then tap or click OK.

Hp laptop synaptics touchpad light comes on and shuts off pointer

Had this problem before, very annoying! On mine the idea was double tap to disable the track pad and then double tap again to activate it... In reality tapping rapidly in the area around the LED until the LED shut off seemed to work.

In short; double tap the LED to reactivate the track pad. If that doesn't work tap several times in quick succession until the LED turns off.

Good luck!

My touchpad is working only as a mouse, the tapping is not working..why is that ? I have an aspire 3680 mouse work and the 2 click buttons too only tapping is not working. I have check all drivers and they...

1. Go to control panel
2. open mouse options
3. click the device settings tab and you should see your touch pad as one of the devices.
4. Make sure your touch pad is highlighted and click the settings button
5. one of the options is tapping, and you can enable it here

That should get your mouse to click on touch pad taps.

Good Luck!

My touchpad has stopped working so i must left click all the time

Hello naughtyitlbo, to make the "Touchpad respond correctly. Do the following:

Click on the "Start Button." paul7of9_75.jpg Next, in the (right area) click on the "Control Panel."

Choose the "Mouse paul7of9_76.jpg in the Hardware and Sound category."

In the "Mouse Properties {Window} you should 'see; "below" the [Button configuration], paul7of9_79.jpg

Radio Buttons, [*Right-handed / *Left-handed]. Choose the function you want. You can also make at this time 'changes to the Speed. Try it out a few times until you are satisfied with the movement.

You can always go back and change some of the other different "Functions" available.

I suggest, click on the "Device Setting" button, paul7of9_80.jpg once the window open, click on the "Setting" button just below."

Try out some of the "items listed:"

Tapping, Virtual Scrolling... "You must click on the "Apply / OK" buttons when finished."

"I hope this information is helpful? Thanks for using FixYa, paul7of9"

MY MOUSE WILL NOT WORK WHEN I TAP IT ONLY WHEN I MOVE MOUSE AROUND BUT NOT WHEN I TAP IT

Click the Start button, then go to control panel, then mouse. The mouse settings are all located there. You should be able to find the setings for tapping in there.

Asus mousepad stopped working after windows vista update

1.) Try reloading the touch pad drivers, should be on the CD that came with it or check the Asus website for new ones.
2.) Have you accidently disabled it? There is a Fn key combination to do this. Try Fn+F9. Also, there is an option to automatically disable the mouse pad when a USB mouse is plugged in. And of course, you can disable it from the Device Manager.
3.) Try going into :: Control Panel, find "Mouse", select the "Device Settings" tab, select the touchpad and click the "Settings" button). Check the settings in the "Tapping" section.

Toshiba laptop touchpad click not working

Ok so here goes.... I had the same problem:

Go to the 'start' button and then hit the 'control panel' option, then click 'mouse' then go to 'Device Settings' and then to the 'settings'. When you get to this screen it shows a list on lthe left hand side choose the 'tapping' option and then ok.

Hope it works for you...it did for me.
