Hub or router? If you have a network you need a router.
If you have a router, check it's configuration. Follow the router manufactures default settings and see if you can connect. If not contact their tech support line.

Assuming this is like a home network you should try unplugging the power to your wireless router for 5 seconds and then plug it back in. Sometimes your wireless router can have a problem handing out IP addresses correctly.

If it still doesn't work then try connecting to a different network, if it has a problem connecting to multiple networks then you probably have a hardware problem. You can call Toshiba at 1-800-457-7777 or lookup your local ASP at support.toshiba.com for help.

Signal strength went from Good to Low

Either move the computer closer to the router or the router closer to the computer. You could also try connecting the usb adapter to a usb hub to remove any interference from the computer.

Computers have limited connection to linksys wrt54g although signal is full strength

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Also try resetting the wireless router by turning off the power to the wireless router for a few minutes and the boot up your computers.

I cannot get these plug in units to pair or connect to the laptop. is it me or are they ****?

If you can install a wireless repeater it may provide a better signal.
OR
A wireless 3G network uses the mobile/cell phone network and can be separate or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses an USB wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.

The internet strength is high but the internet is very slow

Internet Connections are slow sometimes because of the kind of applications that are being surfed. Video and Audio Streaming will no doubt slow down connections. Deploying a content filtering application like GFI can solve this problem for enterprise use. if it's a single user try clearing your TEMP internet Files

Cannot connect to the internet

What I would do is Unplug the Cable Modem and the Router. Then plug in the modem first and then the router after the modem lights are all synced. Then try and reconnect after all lights are functioning normally

NH1005 network hub

I assume that besides the 2 computers you also have a cable or dsl modem connected to the hub in order to provide the actual connection to the internet.

The problem may be the fact that this is a hub and not a router or gateway. The problem is that although it will allow you connect more than 1 computer to the internet, it does not do any good if you Internet Service Provider only supplies you with 1 IP address. You need something that handles Network Address Translation (NAT), like a router or gateway device.

Wireless connection problem

BT is right, the fault is at your end, because you can connect to the Internet with an ethernet cable.
You have lost your wireless connection with the wireless hub.
This could be low signal strength (especially if the wireless access point is in one part of the house and your laptop is in another room)
OR Your laptop wireless card has lost its wireless access configuration.
Check your laptop wireless configuration, check your signal strength, check your SSID, check your security (WEP or WAP),
Have you got MAC address filtering.
Go to control panel, click on network connections, right click on Wireless Network, Click on repair (might fix your connection problem), Else right click on Status (should give you indication of how your wireless is functioning or not functioning).
Check your TCP/IP settings is set for "Obtain an IP address automatically"
Without more information it is difficult to identify exactly what is wrong with your connection.
