Question about Craftsman 24 Hp 48" Deck Yard Tractor

I cannot get the v belt to stretch far enough to slip it over the electronic clutch as manual tells me to do. I disconnected the wire harness and the clutch locator and removee the belt from the stationary pully and the clutch pullys as directed. It is still impossible to stretch the old belt down over the electric clutch. There must be a trick to it!

I don't have a Craftsman, but I have a John Deere and one of the pulleys on the deck is actually spring loaded with a handle on it. You push the handle and it loosens the belt so you can install/remove it. Not sure if yours is the same or not. May have to take the deck loose from the tractor, but that doesn't seem like it would be the only way.

A just clutch

you shouldn't need to adjust the clutch on a riding lawnmower, all it does is apply pressure to the belt acting like a tensioner pulley to cause the belt to grip the crankshaft and drive pulleys. you should check to make sure that the pulley on the clutch linkage is in good shape and spins freely, also your belt may have stretched beyond the clutches ability to provide enough tension to drive the mower. or the belt has slipped to the wrong side of the clutch pulley.

How do i get the belt around the motor pully wheel on a white knite cl637wv

If you can't push the tensioner pulley back far enough to allow the belt to go around it, disconnect the tensioner spring, route the belt, then reconnect the spring. If it's a question of having adequate strength to push against the spring and still have a hand free to route the belt, find something to jam against the tensioner to hold a bit of slack in the pulley. Make sure the jamming tool (large screwdriver, block of wood, etc.) is sturdy enough to hold securely, and well-braced. An ill-timed slip could cause severe hand injury.

If your dryer does not have a belt tensioner mechanism, the motor bracket probably has belt adjustment slots in it. In that case, loosen (but do not remove) the motor mounting bolts that go through the slots, push the motor over a bit to give you the slack you need, route the belt, then pull the motor back to tighten the belt and retighten the motor bolts. Sometimes a tight belt can be rolled onto the pulley by starting it on one side of the pulley and turning the pulley by hand while pushing the belt along in the direction of the turn, but it is better to mount the belt with slack in it; excess stretching causes premature failure.

How do I change a alternador in my 1999 plymoth Breeze 2.0

1 remove battery cables from battery 2 disconnect wires from alternator 3 loosen belt with the belt tensioner it will probly take a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tensioner by putting the end that normaly goes into socket into a square hole in tensioner( just move tensioner far enough to slip belt off alternator pully) 4 remove bolts from alternator 5 put new alternator in place and put bolts in 6 put belt back over pulley 7 plug wires back on alternator 8 reconnect battery

Have a Greenfield Evolution 2000 mower , the forward drive clutch is slipping badly on hills is ok on the flat, what is required to fix this problem. Can the clutch pads be replaced or are complete clutch...

The Greenfield clutch (drive belt) is adjusted by spring pressure pulling a long rod that has serations on it. Either the belt has run out of adjustment (= new belt needed) or the adjuster has stuck. Lift up the seat and push the adjusting rod that has a big spring attached to see if you can move it towards the front. Look at the pulley beside the rod, if the belt has stretched too far, the pulley will be hard up against its slot. The pulley moves towards the front to tighten the belt. I just push with my leg to get another "click" out of the adjusting rod. New belts are cheap too.

Not picking up and the brush does not move

Check to make sure that the knob for carpet/ bare floor has not slipped, the brushroll will only turn when carpet is selected. The most likely culprit is a stretched belt on your clutch assembly; you have one tor the brushroll and one to the motor. These belts will stretch out though Dyson will not tell you this. Best remedy is to replace the clutch assembly with OEM # 900252-04. Dyson will sell the Brusholl belt but I suggest shopping arround to find someone willing to pull the clutch apart; to my knowlege Dyson will NOT sell the motor belt.

A/C on 1988 Mercedes 190E fan squeaks and does not function

Assuming your compressor tries to turn but squeaks due to the lack of tension on your belt. Belt maybe stretched to far for the tensioner to keep it tensioned. If so, replace belt ('88 model should be single belt if multi belts adjust tensioner). If belt slips because A/C compressor doesnt want to turn when clutched in, that should mean A/C compressor seized and needs replacing.
