Question about Dell F3534 Touchpad

1 Answer

Hi, I have a Dell Inspirion 1545 notebook. Recently my touchpad/hot keys will not display on my screen any longer. It's weird it just suddenly stopped. My hot keys (i.e. volume control, brightness) work but it used to always bring up a display when I'd touch these keys. I used it a lot for my checking my battery, but now when I hit that hot key nothing happens...Can you help? Thanks!

The wire that attaches the panel to the system board has likely pulled loose from the slot. its a very thin flat cable and has no grips on it, it slides into a tiny slot. Its possible that Dell can walk you through fixing it, but if your machine is under warranty, I'd suggest getting a tech to come out and do it for you. it takes about an hour to get it back to par.

Dell inspiron 1545 and the touchpad

a dirty pad will malfunction. FORTUNATELY, the 1545 usually has a good warranty, so before you wait any longer, get Dell on the phone and get it fixed. You will get it back in 10 days, like new.

Inspiron 1545 "t"key randomly opens new tabs

This is caused by the touchpad zoom feature; when it is enabled, brushing the touchpad registers a pressing of the ctrl key. Disable touchpad zoom and this behavior should stop occurring.
