If the trackball won't go in one direction, try putting one drop of denatured alcohol onto the trackball and then moving it all around, that should fix it. If it doesn't, lift the trackball up slightly -- very gently -- with the blade of a small pocket knife and blow compressed air underneath it.

How to uninstall apps on a BlackBerry Tour

Uninstalling an application from a BlackBerry Tour is a simple process that only takes a few minutes. First, find the app's icon. (By default, this icon will be located in the Downloads folder unless you've moved it.) Move the trackball over the icon and press the BlackBerry button (the one with seven dots to the left of the trackball). From the menu, select Delete.

A confirmation window will appear asking if you're sure you want to delete the program. Select Delete again. You'll see a message that says, "Deletion will occur when handheld is restarted," and you'll be prompted to reboot your BlackBerry. If you choose Yes, the phone will shut off and go through the cold boot process -- just like if you'd pulled out the battery. It may take several minutes for the device to fully boot back up, but when it does, the application will be deleted.

If you choose not to restart at that time, the application's icon will be removed from the folder, but the application itself will remain on your BlackBerry until you perform a cold boot (turn the BlackBerry off, pull out the battery, then reinstall it and turn the phone back on).

Even after you've completed the uninstall process, the application's files will still remain stored on your BlackBerry. You can find and delete these files by navigating through the BlackBerry's file system. In your Home folder, select Media and then press the BlackBerry button. Choose Explore, and you'll see two options: Media Card and Device Memory. Select Media Card, then continue down the folder tree by selecting BlackBerry, then app_world, then downloads.

The next folder will have a name that's a combination of letters and numbers, which is your BlackBerry's PIN. Select this folder, and you'll see a subfolder with the name of the application you just deleted. (If you have more applications installed, there will be folders with their names here as well.) Press the BlackBerry button and choose Delete to get rid of the folder, which is only taking up space and isn't necessary anymore since you've already uninstalled the application. If there are other applications here that you've previously deleted, you can erase their files too to free up more space.

Blackberry trackball wont work

I have the Blackberry Tour.......I work in all kinds of environments....so I get dust, dirt, and debris in my trackball......every 3-4 weeks I cannot move the trackball.......all you gotta do is get AIR DUSTER, the same you use for your computer keyboard etc. and keep it about 3-4 inches away and spray the air at your trackball and move it around......just keep spraying it for about 1-2 seconds at a time and move the ball around after every spray and you are good to go!!!!!

I had this same problem it was from a third party application that I had downloaded. Go to blackberry.com, and select support and search your APP error it will walk you through a guide on getting it fixed--although your phone will reset back to default.
