Question about Samsung LN-S4051D 40 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Image Retention I was playing a PS2 game on my Samsung 40" LCD HDTV LN-(can't remember the rest). At that time the resolution was 4:3. And then some days later i noticed a thin line/stripe at the right side of the screen. It's exactly where the picture border was ending and the black stripe was beginning. Why did the pixels only get stuck on the right side and not on the left too? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Any help and advice would be aprecciated. Thanx

Re: Image Retention

Burn in is not supposed to occur on an lcd tv, however I have an lcd from Proview that leaves images on the polymer layer the white horizontal address bar is the most prominent. if I leave the monitor off for about 3 days the images disappear, this may or may not help you, if Samsung has created a ticket on this issue you may well receive a prepaid shipping label to return the tv for repair.

I'm willing to bet you have a backlight problem. Turn on the TV, take bright flashlight and shine it on the screen. Do you see the faint image???

What can be done about TV "burn in" samsung LTN4061FX

To prevent burn in don't leave an image on your screen for an extended period of time. This applies to bars and tickers on games and shows. Once you have it there is nothing that can be done.

Samsung LCD TV Image Retention...I Think

I have not noticed that with my set, Sony Bravia 2007 1080I.

Uh, I have a bigger problem though...

I had just paused my live tv for about 40 minutes on abaseball game and now I have green burn in.
I'm in the middle of searching the net for solutions. I have tried:

pure white screen for 30 minutes (no change)
"fuzz" for 1 hour (no change)
turn TV off for 12 hours (no change)
I'll now try to power down fully for 12 hours and see what happens.
