my dvd is getting as no disk

  • ShyGal16 Feb 14, 2008

I've turned on my DVD player, put in the disk and at first it says it is reading the disk, but after several minutes reading is replaced with a ? beside a disk and the led power light flashes green and red.

I've checked the connections and they apear fine. The disk is a rental butlooks relitivly free of problems. Not a tech person so no idea what else to try.

Is it possible to change the region code to region 3 so we can watch movies from Thailand? No need to switch back as I have another DVD on region 1. Charlie (cleggett1937@aol.com)

You can make this player REGION FREE so all discs operate on it.

Power up, no disk in. Status says READ then INSERT DISC.
Press MENU (status reads invalid key icon)
Press 1 (status reads invalid key icon)
Press 9 Menu is displayed.
Press ENTER on the region, digit turns to "-"
Press 0
Press ENTER again
Press EJECT to clear the special menu.

If you reset (unplug) the player for any reason - this will need to be re-entered.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

Cyberhome Ch- DVD 300

Your advice was very helpful. After two+ months of tooling around and navigating around the menu blind I was on the brink of trashing it.

At first I tried the stop button with a dvd in the player with no success. After taking the dvd out, turning in off/on then pressing the stop button for 20 seconds the screen turned blue as said.

This help saved me a great amount of fustation.

Thank You!

DVD Player stops in "Loading..." mode

1. Check that disc is encoded for your geographical region. A disc from Europe (Region 2) will not play in a North American (Region 1) player. 2. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on. 3. If your player has a transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), make sure that it is not engaged. 4. If you have an older player, check with the manufacturer to see whether an update to the firmware is available. Many newer DVD titles with lots of special features are famous for causing problems on older players. if nothing helps, call for service.
