Hi,
The Cuzer has its own encryption software. Plug the Cruzer in a USB 2.0 prt on the computer. If the Cruzer LaunchPad does not execute by default, use the Windows explorer to explore My computer. You will see two icons related to your cruzer, one of them is a CD_ROM. In fact it is the LaunchPad of the U3Smart OS that come swith the Cruzer.
Click on the CD-ROM icon and an a yellow icon (U3) installs on the system tray. Click on it. A pop-up window deploys. Click the Settings button on the right side (2nd menu on the right, under explore drive). You will have to configure U3 LaunchPad Settings. Select Security and enable security.

See imageCan I password protect my Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash - 4ef08f4.jpg

You will be prompted for a password.

Warning: If you use the Cruzer on Macs or Linux, you will not be able to open it on these OS's if security is enabled. You will be able to open it on Windows only.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Hello

Yes, you can, but you need to download software to do so, just follow these steps to do this.

    Encrypt Entire Flash Drive
  1. Step 1 Download and install the freeware program "Cryptainer LE" onto your PC or laptop. Enter a meaningful password from 8 to 100 characters and define the file location and size, which you can change at a later time. Enter your password when prompted.
  2. Step 2 Install Cryptainer Mobile when the Cryptainer LE installation is complete. Select "Tools" on the menu bar at the top of your screen. Select "Install Cryptainer Mobile" and follow the prompts. The Mobile version comes with the LE download.
  3. Step 3 Close the LE version on your desktop. Select a location and meaningful password for the Mobile version. To protect important files and folders, drag and drop them into the vault, the location of the encrypted files.
Let me know if you don't understand.

Kind regards
Andrea

How do i set up the password protect thing on my cruzer micro 4 GB ... please

Hi!

Plug your flash drive in and launch the .exe file that you will find there. It's probably called launchu3. Once you do that, then you will get a red box on the bottom right of your screen with the Cruzer name on it. Click on that, and you will find the "Security" section. The password setup is in that.
