What application are you using to create the image? Does this printer support the GL2 (plotter command set)? If it does, then you can use the plotter scan commands to reduce the image. If I understand you correctly, you want to reduce the image from a 24 X 36 to a 6 X 9 image, is that correct? Don

I just ran through the HP site and it now appears that the GL2 code is an upgrade item.

I also now believe that you need to be able to manipulate the image in an application such as Adobe PhotoShop family or Adobe Illustrator.

So we come back to exactly what are you tyring to do? How is the image being sent to the printer"? Does your printer driver allow you to do "NUP" printing as in "4UP". This allows the printer to automatically reduce the image of 4 pictures on the 24X36 page.

Once again, take a look at the driver properties or "Page set up" to make sure that you are setting the scaling size for the printer properly.

Size is irrelevant. What you need to know is the type. The information may be marked on or near the battery compartment.

How to shrink document to fit screen size when printing

Hi,

Scaled Printing
The procedure for specifying a scaling value and printing a document with pages enlarged or reduced to match the document to the paper size is as follows:
1. Open the printer driver setup window, and select Scaled Printing from the Page Layout list on the Page Setup tab.

figure:Select Scaled Printing for Page Layout on the Page Setup tab
2. Using Page Size, select the page size that was set with your application.
3. Do either of the following to set a scaling factor:
Select a Printer Paper Size.
Select a printer paper size, which is different from the Page Size, from the Printer Paper Size list. If the printer paper size is smaller than the Page Size, the page image will be reduced. If the printer paper size is larger than the page size, the page image will be enlarged.6c3578e0-f243-44b0-aa8e-f7bb7752ed56.jpg

Specify a scaling factor.
Directly type in a value into the Scaling box.

figure:Scaling on the Page Setup tab
The current settings are displayed in the Settings Preview on the left side of the printer driver.
4. Click OK.
When you execute print, the document will be printed with the specified scale.
Note
If the application software with which you created the original has the scaled printing function, configure the settings on your application software. You do not need to also configure the same setting in the printer driver. When Scaled Printing is selected, the Staple Side list box appears grayed out and is unavailable (when Duplex Printing is not selected). When Borderless Printing check box is checked for the Page Layout list, Scaled Printing cannot be selected.
Tip
Selecting Scaled Printing changes the printable area.

Hope this helps

I bought new laptop, i was happy with that the only problem is screen resolution is very bad when i watch movies from online and video chating..

In most cases the screen resolution and the actual video size have different dimensions, therefore video controls will change their size in fullscreen. To avoid this behavior a common practice is to use the screen resolution as fullScreenSourceRect, keep the scale of the controls and scale the video object to match the full screen dimensions. This can impact the performance of the video, especially on larger screens and with HD content.

My printer won't print on a full scale.. meaning

this has to be set from the wizard for the printing job ...look for the edges size..but when you print on paper ..something like a full size A4 image ...it will always leave a 5 mm edge as default setting ..But like I said..initiate printing ..and in that wizard set the edge to 0 or ..click to remove edge if it is possible..anyway if it is possible there is the only location where you can change it ...and I'm not sure if it can be done permanently

How do I access the menu/control panel?

MFP and scanner settings can be changed several ways: through the MFP control panel, the software application in use,
the print driver, MarkVision™ Professional, or the Web pages. Settings changed from the application or print driver apply
only to the job being sent to the MFP.
Changes made to print, fax, copy, and e-mail settings from an application override changes made from the control panel.
If a setting cannot be changed from the application, use the MFP control panel, MarkVision Professional, or the Web pages.
Changing a setting from the MFP control panel, MarkVision Professional, or the Web pages makes that setting the user
default.
Menus (A key is shown on the button.) Touch to access the menus. These menus are only
available when the MFP is in the Ready state.
The Menus button is on a gray bar called the navigation
bar. The bar contains other buttons described as follows.
Understanding the copy screens and options
Copy From:
Opens a screen where you can enter the size of the documents you are going to copy.
Touching any of the paper size icons on the follow-on screen will make that your selection and return you to the
Copy Options Screen.
When Original Size is set to Mixed Sizes, you can scan different size original documents (letter and legal size
pages). They will be scaled automatically to fit the selected output media size.
Copy To: Opens a screen where you can enter the size and type of paper on which your copies will be printed.
Touching any of the paper size icons on the follow-on screen will make that your selection and return you to the
Copy Options Screen.
If the size settings for Copy From and Copy To are different, the MFP will automatically adjust the Scale setting to
accommodate the difference.
If you have a special type or size of paper that you'd like to copy onto that is not normally in the MFP paper trays,
you can select MP Feeder, and manually send the type of paper you want through the MP feeder.
When using Auto Match, the MFP will match the size of the original document as specified in the Copy From box.
If a matching paper size is not loaded in one of the paper trays, the MFP will scale the copy to fit loaded media.
Scale: Creates an image from your copy that is proportionally scaled anywhere between 25% and 400%. Scale can also be
set for you automatically.
When you want to copy from one size of paper to another, such as legal size to letter size, setting your Copy From
and Copy To paper sizes will automatically change the scale to keep all the original document information on your
copy.
Touching the arrow to the left lowers the value by 1%; touching the arrow to the right increases the value by 1%.
Holding your finger on an arrow makes a continuous increment.
Holding your finger on an arrow for two seconds causes the pace of the change to accelerate.
************************Darkness: Adjusts how light or dark your copies will turn out in relation to the original document.****************** here is the link to the full pdf manual for your unit: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/x644e/en/ug.pdf#xml=http://support.lexmark.com/lexmark/index?page=answeropen&segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en&type=open&searchid=1270220491739&answerid=16777216&iqaction=6&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lexmark.com%2Fpublications%2Fpdfs%2F2007%2Fx644e%2Fen%2Fug.pdf&productCode=&highlightinfo=106955230,537,548

two solutions are available:

1. Change font size off the windows tool setting to a smaller #. Like from 16 to 10.

or

2. make sure you are designing in metric and divide units by 100. Then change scale to 1:100

Incomplete plot from .pdf file - Hp DesignJet 1050C Plus

Was the plot originally done on a size D or E plotter.. A .pdf is generally not a good way to send a plot that has to be done to scale.. Can they re-send the plot in a hpgl format, or a format that you can use in another program, liks ACAD, and then print it through that program? This would provide you with some control, that a pdf document will not allow.

This is just a stab in the dark for me, but I am familiar with plotters in general, just not the many formats to print from..

How do I move my screen image a few pixels to the left?

TV - analogue (S-Video, composite) X X X TV - analogue (component) X X VGA (with EDID) X X VGA (without EDID) X Digital (DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI) X X Digital (HDTV via DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI) X X LVDS (notebook display) X If the feature is supported, the corresponding tab is available on the Adjust Desktop Size and Position page. If only one feature is supported, then only the controls for that feature appear on the page and there are no other tabs.
Scaling The scaling controls let you adjust the size of the desktop to best fit your screen. The configuration that you specify may be overridden by the settings in the Resize section.

Select a scaling mode

Aspect ratio: This setting expands the desktop as much as possible while maintaining the same dimensional proportions, or aspect ratio, as the original image. There may be some black borders, but you may prefer this setting to avoid distorting the image.
Full-screen: This setting stretches the desktop to fill the entire display screen.
No scaling: This setting leaves the display image in its original size and centres it on your screen resulting in a small though crisp image. A black border may appear around the display image.

Perform Scaling on

GPU: This causes the GPU to scale the desktop from the set resolution up to the native resolution timing.
Automatic: This setting uses a combination of display and GPU scaling to scale the desktop from the set resolution up to the native resolution timing.

Override the scaling mode set by games and programs

When this check box is checked, applications cannot change the scaling mode set on this page.

Preview

Under the Preview section you can select a resolution and refresh rate, and then the preview image shows how full-screen applications will appear on the screen, using the selected scaling configuration. The available refresh rates will depend on the scaling method selected.
Resize Some displays, such as HDTVs, extend the edges of the display beyond the visible borders of the screen. This overscan is intended to hide broadcast data that is not intended for the viewer. This results in hiding useful parts of the screen for non-broadcast content, such as the Windows desktop.
The best way to resize the screen in order to view the entire content is to use the controls provided by the display hardware.
The resize controls on the NVIDIA Control Panel are provided in case satisfactory results cannot be achieved using the controls on the display.
Position Use the arrow buttons in the image under Adjust the desktop position to adjust the position of your desktop or image on your screen.
