Question about GE 24 in. Profile PDW7880G Built-in Dishwasher
Does not drain
My dishwasher will not drain. The water stays in the bottom of the dishwasher. When it should drain, I do not hear anything happening where I used to hear the pump working. Is my pump bad?

Either there is a blockage in the drain line or your water pump has died. Check inside the dishwasher for any food or particles in the drain area in the center of the bottom. If there is still no luck, pull off the drain line and check it for blockage. (If there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher, get a bucket to catch the water!) Old plumbers trick, if you have the stomach, Pull off the drain line under the sink, put your mouth over the pipe and blow. You should hear the air coming out inside dishwasher. Now the line is clear. The pump is only about 3 or four inches square and is attached to the drain line. Its not difficult to replace and the parts are normally pretty cheap. MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF THE POWER AT THE FUSE BOX before attempting replacement. Hope this helps,.
