I have a cd stuck in the cd player. help.......2005 vw beetle

grab some hemostats and probe the middle of the slot for the cd's edge. Clamp and pull.

The only option other than reaching in a grabbing the disk would be to remove the entire middle dash panel by systematically removing all bolts, removing the cd player, opening the top of the unit and "plucking" the disk out, only thing is you are likely to continue having this problem unless the unit is replaced or you found something obstructing the disks path the you where able to remove.

Speakers thumping and crackling even when turned off ,varies

im not knowledgable about car audio systems, but i would check to make sure your deck/changer is clean. it takes very little debris getting into your changer/deck to foul cd deck mechanisms. if you dont regularly check the surfaces of your disks for prints/smudges/exc.. you can easily foul the deck by repeated insertion of dirty disks. it could be that an internal motor is weak, a tiny drive belt could be sheared, or a gear inside has broken teeth. the lens that reads the disk information (instances that the disk did load) can be fouled leading to messages on your deck face. both problems you mention , to me, seem to point to fouled internal mechanisms. if you have kids, they can do awful things to your car when you are not around. im a parent and i know lol. the only thing i know to suggest to you to slove these problems is if it is after market deck, you may need to remove it and take it to a repair facility because most cd decks at least the ones ive had arent shade tree mechanic friendly. if the deck is your factory installed, check your car owners manual for information. lastly, if it were me, i would use a multi-meter and check for proper voltage at the wire terminals. good luck!

NO DISK message

There is nothing an end user can do to fix this unit except to try and run a lens cleaning disc thru it. If cleaning the lens helps, you have just dodged a bullet. It says "no disc" because the laser pick up can't see, it is blind. It can't read any disc's so it says "no disc" even if there is one in it. I work at a Panasonic authorized service center and have repaired this exact model many times. The repair will cost about $125 or more to replace the laser. This is due to the high cost of the laser pick up.

Unless this is under the warranty, you really should just get a new one. This model of Panasonic normally has an issue with the trays getting jammed and are a technicians nightmare to repair. So, I don't really like to see them in my shop. It was a very bad design for Panasonic, they have had more trouble with the cd mech in this model than any other cd mech I have seen for them in the last 17 years I have been repairing them.

I am sorry to give such bad news, but it really is true. If I can be any further help, please feel free to let me know.
