My Nintendo ds lite is showing in display that There is no Game Pak inserted after inserting Gam Pak and then power on.

Hi,

Could be one of a few possibilities, First try giving the games cartridges metal contacts a clean ideally with a cotton bud and white spirit (if you don't have white spirit try avoiding anything soapy, try and stick to an alcohol based solvant such as nail polish remover2_bing.gif).

If that doesn't work you can try cleaning the cartridge socket (slot1), you can buy proper cleaning cartridges for the DS lite, or, if your feeling brave you can get a jaye cloth, dampen it with an alcohol based solution (same as what is used to clean the cartridge) and thinly wrap it around a rigid ruler, which can then be gently placed into the slot to give it a bit of a clean.

If both of those fail you may find that some of the pins within slot1 are bent/snapped and so this will need to be fixed, If under warranty i'd suggest taking them in to get looked at. If they are not and you feel brave you can set about fixing it yourself, take the DS lite apart and have a look at the pins on the slot1 socket, if they are damaged you can buy a replacement socket on ebay, but be warned it is a tricky job to solder a new one on.

Just so you know I take no responsability for any damage that may occur whilst following these tips.

If you need any further help or advice feel free to message me and I will do my best to help you. (If it comes down to it, if you are local to Bedfordshire, UK I can always take a look at it for you).

Not reading any of my games

Check inside slot1 for bend or broken pins, if found you must take your DS to a videogame repair shop.

If all ok try to clean your DS slot1 contacts, theres a way to do it without problem, take some cardboard and make a cartridge width piece but longer to grab it, soak with alcohol and insert many times cartridge alike.
Dont use any cotton or fiber thing as pins can get caught and broken when you take out the cleaner.

My ds lite does not detect games

You have a defective slot1 (pins broken for example).
Only solution is the replacement of slot1. You need solder skils for that.

How come my DS is not playing my new game?

If that is happening with all the games then its like your slot1 is broken.
Check for bent or broken pins in the DS slot. If anything wrong you might need to send it for repair the slot1.
At last resort you can try inserting a piece of cardboard soaked in alcohol carefully in the slot to clean the pins (if not broken) or open the console and try to lift the pins a bit to allow it to make good contact.

Nintendo DS not reading games

Some pins were bent in my son's DS. I used a mini LED light and an open paper clip as a pick to bend them back into line.
I then got an Emory board (nail file) and wet the tip in alcohol, the board is the right thickness to just reach the copper pins. I went in and out gently as I worked my way across the lot and kept wetting the file with alcohol. All the games worked like it was new. be sure to do this upside down so the alcohol drips out the slot along with the filings. good compressed air blow after you are done to get all the strays out of there.

The pinds are copper and they do oxidize and the games left in gets moisture trapped between the game and the pin causing some corrosion. Maybe diddimilar metals by alloy but wither way this fix works ! : )
