Question about Linksys Network Everywhere NWR04B Wireless Router (NWR04B-CA)

1 Answer

Limited connectivity via NWR04B router

I keep getting limited or no connectivity through the NWR04B router. If I do get connectivity, I can log into the router to configure but I still cannot connect to the internet. Trillian keeps going on and off the internet meaning the connection is sporadic and I can't access webpages.

The wireless router does not even send a signal throughout my apartment. It feels like the network connection is not making it through the router.

It is your ISP problem. I was having the problem over the summer with verizon, and they had to replace 150 of cable and finally got it fix.

Limited Connection Error

A limited connection on a Windows PC usually means that there is no connection to the internet on that segment. That is if you connect to the printer via a network switch or LAN. Newer printers can act as a DHCP server/router assigning IP addresses to LAN clients. It has no impact on your LAN if you do not want or need a connection to the internet. However if you want to access the internet from this PC I suggest you get a separate router and use that as the DHCP server on your LAN. Connect the PC and the printer to the router and disable the DHCP server on the printer. Also make sure that all devices (PCs and printer) are using the router as the default gateway. Once again if you don't need an internet connection the limited connection shouldn't worry you.

Try power cycling your router while your computer is connected via wireless (even with limited or no connectivity) . Unplug the router for 15 seconds and then plug it in again. Hopefully the router will assign your computer a new IP address.

Limited connectivity, had my isp server replace wires, run tests, modem works great, connect to router and very slow. computers running vista (lan), xp (lan) and windows 7 (wireless)

Please open the router setup page with the address 192.168.1.1 which is default ipadress

>This will ask you for the username and password.
Leave the username blank and in the password type admin which is default .
>Open the router settings page and go the wireless settings Tab.
>Under the basic wireless settings Change the wireless channel to 6 which is best compatible channel.
>click on the save settings and exit out of that page.

>Restart the router after.

If you type your IP Address into your internet browser, you should be able to log in to your router and change settings.

You will probably have to provide a username and password.

I can not make fixed number of users that's into my network while i am using two switch are connected to this router plz help.thanks for your caring

If you are using NAT then have the router only assign a limited number of IP addresses. If you are not using NAT then doing so can help to limit the number of users. keep in mind though that the router is slower than the PC when refreshing IP connections. So if a PC loses it's connection you may not be able to log back in for several minutes to several hours.

Connection problem. shows limited connectivity and disconnects

limited connectivity means you didn't get an IP address. Is the router set to give addresses via DHCP, or is another PC doing that? Most common cause of this problem is wrong authentication (normally "open") or encryption type (WEP, WPA or WPA2). Pklease note that encryption keys can be set as HEX or ASCII, if they are HEX it will be only numbers 0 to 9 and letters A-F. ASCII can be anything.
