Question about Nokia E71 Smartphone

Nokia E71, warm and poor battery...

Hi, I have a Nokia E71, which I got to replace an E71 which I had stolen, and I can't help but get frustrated that the battery life on my new (current) phone will barely cover 2 days (even if the phone has been barely used, whereas my previous phone would last for upto a week of general use, even with the use of internet.

I have also noticed that the battery cover on the phone gets very warm whilst I am using the phone - something my old phone didn't do.

Are these problems connected?

When using applications my back cover gets hot too especially with nokia maps

My Nokia E71 phone has been saying "Insert SIM Card" often. It seems like it happens when it gets warm, but only from use or from having it outside in the summer. Even if it isn't in direct...

Your phone is under warranty and so Nokia must give you support for the problem seen. The SIM card detection pins can be dirty or loose and so the contacting could be bad but being a new phone it is not possible. However it is best to remove the SIM card and wipe the contacts with some spirit and a cotton bud and wipe it clean to have a polished surface.
If there is a loose fitting of the SIM then this must be complained.
However as you have observed if the fault is intermitent it can be due to a faulty mother board, possible poor solder joints or tracks that are cracked.
In this case you MUST get a free service or part replaced and so DO NOT TAMPER THE SET until you show it to NOKIA CARE.

You can report your stolen phone to Telecommunication Commission in your country.

They will lock your phone so that it can never be use no matter if you change the phone sim card.

They can possible also traced it.

Hope it helps..

When charging nokia E71, it randomly stop, then continuing?

If you are having these problem with your nokia, there are two possible reasons why this should be happening;

1. You could be charging it with a faulty charger, and you should get another e71 charger for it. You can probably use this same presumed faulty charger on another nokia phone and if it does work well then it implies that the charger is fit and well. So please don't replace the charger.

2. This therefore leaves us with the last option which is the battery, please replace the battery you've got and your phone would charge normally.

Hope this helps as i presume that your charging port is very much ok.

Nokia e71 Battery life

The battery drains so quickly because it maintains a constant connection to the network via a data uplink and downlink.Meaning its like continously talking on ur mobile phone. With Push email, the device is constantly connecting to the network which means its downloading data (which is ur email) on a regualr basis. And thus is draining the battery faster.
Put it to the test!!! turn ur push email off and you will find that the battery will last for 3 days

The best solution is to buy an extra battery and keep it handy in your car.

P.S. The battery that comes with the E71 is 1100 mAH .. right ?
