There are 2 ways of doing it. Either you use Winrar software so that you can compress the file to less than 10 MB.

Or, you can use a free utility called HJSplit to split the file in 2 parts and send the parts as attachment. Whoever receives it can join the files by using HJSplit too.

Your Hotmail account may have been blocked for security reasons because Microsoft may have detected an usual activity in your account. Can't send a photo or document in my email

Hi,
  • Start composing a new email message in Windows Live Hotmail.
  • Click Attachments under Insert: in the message's toolbar.
  • Find and highlight a file on your computer.
  • Click Open or Choose, depending on your browser.
  • Wait for the file to be completely uploaded.
  • Continue editing the message.
  • Eventually, click Send to deliver the message together with its attachments.
Note that there is a size limit on the attachments you can send. For larger files, you can use afile sending service. Hotmail Support

Cant mail a pic from desktop by right clicking and selecting send mail as i get an error that it cant send

Most email providers will limit the size of the email to 10mb. Some go as large as 30mb.
If you right click the image and select properties what is the file size (remember 1mb is 1024kb)?
If the file size is fairly large try compressing the software using software like winzip or winrar. To see if it can shrink the file enough to be sent via email.
Another thing to note is some email providers also do not allow certain file formats to be mailed as well. Most will allow you to mail a compressed file format (*.zip, *.tar.gz, *.rar).

I cannot send emails from my hotmail account.

Here are the most common reasons for this problem, which is a common complaint.

Email file attachments problem At the time of writing, Hotmail lets you send email attachments of upto 10MB (free accounts). Are you trying to attach a file that's too large? Also, Hotmail may not send emails with files attachments that it thinks can harm its servers or the recipient's computer. Try sending the message without the attachment and see if it goes through.
You may also be interested in knowing how to attach a large file to an email message.
Browser support If the email composition window doesn't open, the browser you are working on is probably not supported by Hotmail. In this case, use another web browser - there are tens of these programs available for free - check the browser list. The technology behind Hotmail may not work with newly released browsers (has happened before) and really old ones.
A case in point is issue faced by Firefox users who find that Hotmail is not attaching the original message to forwards and replies.
Surpassed the limit set by Hotmail Hotmail would also not send emails if you have surpassed the limit of outgoing messages set by the service. This problem is typically encountered by prolific Hotmail users. Why is an email sending limit set on Hotmail accounts? So that people (the bad ones) do not abuse the system. All online email services are known to be plagued with spammers - people who send tens of hundreds (millions?) of unsolicited messages. Hotmail has an automatic check and if your account triggers it, you would not be able to send emails.
Problem in sending email from a new Hotmail email account Taking the above point forward, to protect itself from spammers, Hotmail sets a lower limit of sending email messages from new accounts. This limit is gradually increased (probably automatically) as time passes. So if you have sent a whole bunch of emails the day you created the account, Hotmail will most likely not understand that you've done is out of excitement; it's going to think you are a spammer and abusing the service.
New users may also need to go through the Windows Live Hotmail email verification process. This is simply to ensure that the address is being operated by a human and not by a spambot and will stop Hotmail from asking you to verify the account each time.
Hotmail account blocked from send email? A Hotmail account can be blocked from sending email if the system believes that the subscriber has behaved like a spammer! So if you get a 'This account is currently blocked from sending messages', please read that article to know more and to get the issue sorted out with Hotmail staff.
Account closed An account closed message is displayed for the same reason - sending more emails in a day than the limit. You can always contact Hotmail support via abuse@hotmail.com email address - which is kind of ironic because if you can't send emails, how can you send one to the support department? And this brings up the important requirement of having multiple email accounts.
Also, though there is a Hotmail phone number (customer service), I suggest you post a complaint at the Windows Live Solutions Center (WLSC) web site.
By the way, since no real human being is actually monitoring your account - it's all automatic - you may have accidently triggered off the limit check. These false alerts should be taken with a pinch of salt (as long as you know you aren't guilty of misusing the service). You can either send an message to the Hotmail staff at the above mentioned email address or visit WLSC.
If everything fails and you still can't send emails from Hotmail - well, your guess is as good as mine. Try sending the email from another account. You can always get a Gmail account for free which works quite like a Hotmail account.

How to setup push mail for samsung monte phone on gmail

I'm not sure if this is of any help
to anyone but these are the steps
I used to set up email on my
Monte. I'm using an old hotmail
account that didn't support IMAP
or SMTP properly.
1.Set Up a GMail account eg.
someone@gmail.com
2.Set GMail to allow IMAP via the
settings link the the top right
hand corner. (under Forwarding
and POP/IMAP)
3.Under accounts and import set
up the send mail as to send mail as
someone@hotmail.co.uk. Set this
to default send adress
4.In the same tab under check
mail using pop3 set up the pop3 to
recieve from someone@
hotmail.co.uk
5.Under Email Accounts on the
Monte set up email with the
following charecteristics:
Account Name: Hotmail
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL
Incoming Server Type: IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP Port: 993
APOP login: greyed out
Secure Connection: SSL
Download Limit: 500
IMAP4 incoming email: New
Retrieving option: Whole Message
Keep on server: checked
My email adress: someone@
hotmail.co.uk (This is the adress
the phone puts in the from line of
an email)
Username: someone@gmail.com
Password: gmail password
Pop before smtp: greyed out
SMTP auth: checked
Same as POP3/IMAP4: checked
Username: greyed out
Passowrd: greyed out
This should allow you to recieve
new messages from the time you
set up the gmail account on your
phone and to send emails with all
the appearences of coming from
your hotmail account while
actually coming from google's
smtp server. Really do check that
the GMail is set up properly, make
sure it recieves emails adressed
to your hotmail and that it sends
in your hotmail account's name.

Cannot send large email attachment on Snow Leopard Mail

I ran into this problem back in October and found a solution. By default EWS limits attachment sizes to ~ 8MB. You can customize the size limit by making changes on the Exchange 2007 server.
Modify C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\web.config and C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\exchweb\EWS\web.config
Path will vary depending on your Exchange installation. Search for maxRequestLength in both files. Replace with a figure that doubles the actual allowed file size. In my testing 50000KB = 25MB attachment being allowed. Note there are other settings in the GUI of Exchange that can also limit file send size and are well documented in Microsoft KB. Note2: You will have to make this change again after every Exchange service pack.

I can not receive e-mails with attachments

It might be happening if there are some limitations/restrictions imposed as a part of the standard policies/procedures. for e.g.

Maximum message size of an email including all attachments is 20 megabytes. Incoming messages larger than that limit will be rejected, and error message returned to the sender.

Note that other email providers may have a lower attachment size limit, so attachments smaller than 20MB sent may still be rejected by the remote destination. Additionally, downloading large attachments will take a long time for recipients on slower internet connections.

We are using Microsoft Exchange as the email system. Preferred personal accounts are hotmail, gmail, yahoo....Gmail gives max attachment size approx. 10MB so is quite useful to transfer some bulky files....thks....do let me know if you have more queries....hv a nice day!!!

Warm Regards

Sending an email with an attachment/error message

You can only send so much html (hyper text markup language) over a Yahoo personal email account. Try toning down what you send, it true that Yahoo mail support 10Mb transmissions, but what they don't tell is they base that number on text being sent. If your problem continues call here:
