Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

Ipod touch 1st gen seems to drain its battery when plugged in or the battery meter goes down anyway, also once the meter hits 0% it reboots and does the same thing and when the charger is unplugged it Power goes to full then when not used drains and then I take it off lock at it goes back to full again? Also has a very short battery life, it has a brand new battery and it is jailbroken yes but it was doing exectly the same thing before I jailbroke it the other day.

Unfortunatly I am using 2.0 usb and also a wall charger same thing happens with both.
No warrenty as second hand and its quite old.
Its a brand new battery (put in myself, this may be the problem) but I don't think so as everything is done correctly and its all soldered right.

Make sure that you are plugging your unit into the wall. Also make sure you are using a USB charger and not a fire wire charger. Fire wire is not a compatible charger with the itouch. The way you can tell is that if your charger plugs into your computer its USB. Also when you plug in your itouch you should see the battery come up if it is charging. If it is still having trouble then it can be a bad battery, or main board. Contact Apple and see if the unit is still under warranty with this site: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

The serial number can be found on the back of the unit toward the bottom. If you have any further questions feel free to contact www.wiredextreme.com.

Ipod touch 16gb(1st) home button not working. How to fix

On the iPod touch 1st Gen device, the home button is prone to failure due to the design, most can be fixed for a nominal fee, fixed mine, it was one of the hardest iPods to repair for its time, but with practice, is usually never an issue. Once it is open, then the removal of the battery and then the logic board removal requires experience. As far as the button is concerned, Usually, the "pop" disappears and it feels stuck in the down position, simple fix by introducing an iPod Touch 4th Gen device design upgrade (as far as button is concerned.)
This particular model, the iPod Touch 1st Gen, does not have a replaceable home button module design. It is part of the logic board and so it has to be repaired and not replaced. The small outer disc can be removed and recovered, clean or replaced with another comparable size disc, if the issue is with moisture exposure, corrosion. The sign for moisture exposure issues is that it still "pops" but no longer functions.
I have repaired these successfully and with no issues. www.zfixit.com 78c71099-06cd-4a93-9b81-39199bce2261.jpg

MY SCREEN IS WHITE AND I CAN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO TURN IT ON 8G I TOUCH

have you tried rebooting it? (you havnt mentioned which gen it is but this works for at least 1st and 2nd)

1. hold down hold/power button + home button
2. the power off slider might appear, dont let go
3. will make a flash then should go black. it is now fully off
4.hold down the power/hold button like you would normally until the logo comes up then wait for it to finish rebooting

hopefully this helps!

When i take out my headphones out of mu ipod touch it wont let me hear it without the headphones on

you have to hit play again after you unplug the headphones and turn the volume up using the buttons on the left side of the device, if you have no buttons on the left side then you have the 1st Gen iPod touch which you can only listen to with headphones.

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

I have had my apple ipod touch 1st gen. for a while now and i updated it off itunes, it is stuck on the blank screen with the apple in the midle with a loading bar under it, what do i do

Hold down the Power and Home buttons.

If that fails:

Hold down the Power and Home Buttons, once you get the Apple logo, let go of the power button but hold down the home button. Do this when it is connected to the computer it will put it into rescue mode.

Ipod touch 1st Gen turns off during restore. (Need Help!) Please?

You might want to try holding the top button and the home button until it turns on, then let go of the top button. Keep the home button held down until the "Plug Into iTunes" picture comes up. You should be able to normal restore now. If this doesn't work, just go get it repaired.

IPod Touch got wet and the battery won't charge

Sorry, that will not help. When I look at water damaged iPod, 99% of the time something inside has been shorted out and has to be replaced to fix it (that is if the other parts are still working okay). From what you are describing about it not having power on its own, it sounds like the logic board inside was fried. This part can be replaced, but it would be about the same price to fix as it would be to buy a new 8GB 2nd Gen.

Inmotion speeker dock wont charge new ipod touch

This is because you are using different generations.

If the dock was only meant for 1st generation, then itwill only charge 1st generation. It's how they make their money.
