Wire the 3 hot phases to the power terminals on the welder,do not hook the earth to the welders neutral terminal, ground it to the welders case and ground it back to the panel, this way if your using a delta system the 3 phases will balance themselves, but if you hook the neutral terminal up to the welder you'll have what they call the "wild-leg" on one phase and it will be considerably higher voltage than the other 2 phases

Can i run a english 3 phase compressor on french 3 phase

I've done it the other way around. A European motor on North American system. The voltage slightly varies and they are 50hz instead of our 60hz. It will just run a little faster/slower than it should. If that is not an issue you should be fine. It probably wouldn't hurt to double check with a qualified electrical contractor in your area.

Wire schematic

If the welder is single phase 110v use a dedicated 20A standard household circuit. If 220v single phase use a 50A RV or weld receptacle connected to a 50A dual breaker with common trip. Make sure the breaker is the same brand as your panel. If the welder is 3-phase connect the wires B-O-Y (Brown Orange Yellow) at the breaker (3 phase 50A) and see if a color code match can be applied at the welder, although the only issue is whether the wire feed will run forward or reversed. If the wire feed is reversed then move any two wires of the B-O-Y set to change the rotation.

How to convert 220v 3 wire supply to 380v using a triple pole fuse

You have 3-phase 230-240V, and you want 3-phase 380V
Requires 3 transformers with 230-240V primary coil and 380 secondary coil.
You cannot change voltage with a fuse.
The purpose of a fuse is to measure heat on the wire,,, and trip when heat exceeds fuse rating.

How To Interpret Or Read Nameplate On 3 Phase Motor?

The higher the voltage the lower the amperage, so advantage is its more cost effective to run it at highe voltages since power consumption is I squared x Resistance. The resistance will be the same but the lower the current the less it cost to run it.

Where can i find ac motor connection diagrams, specifically, single phase forward and reverse, and 415v motor to 240v power diagrams? thanks andy

there is no motor that is single phase with 415 volts only 240 volt or 120volt and you cannot use a 3 phase motor on single phase it will just fail to start buzz and burn it up .single phase motors have capacitors 3 phase motors do not

There is no blue cable in a 220V, so you have only; white, black, red and ground always green colored wire.

Looking your plug frontal side.
Green Ground on top (semi-circle)
black on left
red on right
white on bottom (neutral).

I have a WESTINGHOUSE WELDER type rs 250 that is wired for 440 volt and need to change to 220 volt.

HI:) If that is a 3 phase 440 volt and you want it to use 220 volt 1 Phase you will have to get a phase inverter to change it from a 3 phase to a single phase.
