Try a google search for a program called 'pcdecrapifier' it checks for pre-installed software that you may not need. No you can't remove older windows updates, I believe the newer updates build on top of the older ones. Also I use a program called Revo Uninstaller, to remove programs and any left over files and folders and registery files that windows doesn't. Hope this helps.

You might want to consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
DOWN LOAD AVG.COM FREE VER RUN A COMPLETE SCAN OF YOUR WHOLE COMPUTER AND IT SHOLD RESOLVE YOUR PROBLEM THEN JUST CLEAN UP A LITTLE WITH SCANDISK OR DEFRAGMENT THE DRIVE.

1. The battery on the motherboard has died. Replace battery. 2. The BIOS is corrupt, reflash BIOS.
Most likely #1, very rarely #2. Pop out the battery on the motherboard and replace it, after the first time you boot up your computer, go into BIOS and set everything the way it should be for your computer (usually just time and date) and then after each sequential time you reboot, that should take care of your problem.
