Question about Sony STR-DE975 Receiver
Try another cable, reverese ends on the one you have, try another optical input. Something is corrupting the bitstream.
Mechanical alignment of optics is critical. I always use coaxial to avoid that, PLUS I can use garden variety RCA cables in any length, splice several together to reach my components and even split them with a Y-connector to share the signal with two devices (but you have to be careful to only USE one at a time, leaving the other powered off). Try any of THAT with optical cables. Not to mention the ridiculous cost.
