Question about NetGear MA111 802.11b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Won't install properly...

When put to sleep loses internet connection and has to be shut down and restarted to regain connection. Also will randomly disconnect from internet connection. I don't think it's installed properly. Installation instructions state that the pop-up instructions will prompt you to shut down the computer and certain points. Those never happened. I then un-installed software and started over shutting down at the point indicated by didn't work either. Help! I just want to connect my desktop to our wireless!

Re: Won't install properly...

Go to your power management setting and turn everything off. I don't know what version of windows you have, so I'll use Windows XP.
Start => Settings => Control Panel => Power Options. Turn all options OFF.
If it disconnects at random you may need to change the channel setting on the cable router.

How can i use my 881 sierra wireless aircard to get online with my ps3

Download and install Sprint's SmartView. Select the download for your computer's operating system. Follow the installation wizard's prompts to properly install SmartView. The aircard should be connected to the computer during installation.

Restart the computer. Leave the aircard connected during the restart.

Double-click on the Sprint SmartView icon on the desktop.

Wait for the program to initialize and recognize the aircard, then click "Connect." Sprint SmartView should activate the aircard automatically.

Open a browser window to access the Internet.

My imac loses its wireless connection, regains it, loses it, regains it.... I'm assuming the airport card has begun to malfunction. Looking for a replacement card.

There is a function for the airport called "robustness". you can enable it in the icon in the upper-right of the screen. It looks like a wi-fi signal icon. Click there, then click on "connection robustness" I think it is called. I am pretty sure that will work, unless the signal is just too weak, and that could be the reason it falls off frequently. If that doesn't work for you, I am in Colusa, and have 2 extra airport cards I am selling for $5 each. Good luck.

DSL connection

This could even be the Dsl modem loosing internet sync, They will tell you its you're end and thats fine check the modem, it also could be the ethernet cards going into standby Thus turning off the wake on lan feature in bios or other software would provent the card from going to sleep.

This is a feature of windows it's not a problem. Your settings can be changed in:

Control Panel>Mobile PC>Power Options
On the left side of the screen you will see "Change when the computer sleeps" click that, then click Advanced.
You will see the wireless power options in this panel.

If you need I can put some pics on my site to help walk you through it or if you have a different OS let me know XP is much the same.

Hope this helps...

You should have an RJ-45 cable connected from your ADSL modem to your router's internet RJ-45 plug then download network magic or similar software to input your user name and password on the router. this way you'll have internet even if your computer is turned off.

Intel 82562V-2 10/100 ethernet adapter does not turn back on from vista sleep mode

I have the same network card.
Never had this problem with Vista (32 bit) but recently switched to Win7 (64 bit) and had the same problem as you.
I solved by going under Control Panel->hardware->network card properties->power save and unchecking "Allow pc to switch off the device to save power"
