Question about NetGear MA111 802.11b Wireless Adapter

Won't install properly...

When put to sleep loses internet connection and has to be shut down and restarted to regain connection. Also will randomly disconnect from internet connection. I don't think it's installed properly. Installation instructions state that the pop-up instructions will prompt you to shut down the computer and certain points. Those never happened. I then un-installed software and started over shutting down at the point indicated by paperwork....it didn't work either. Help! I just want to connect my desktop to our wireless!

Go to your power management setting and turn everything off. I don't know what version of windows you have, so I'll use Windows XP.
Start => Settings => Control Panel => Power Options. Turn all options OFF.
If it disconnects at random you may need to change the channel setting on the cable router.

Can not get the mac pro osx 10 5 8 to start with the utility disk or with regular start up my on pilot lite keeps blinking

Put the Mac install disk back in. Try pressing command-option-escape to force quit. If nothing happens, then press command-control-power to force a restart. If that doesn't work, press and hold the power button for five seconds or so until the computer shuts down. Power up the computer again, and hold the option key so you can select the instal disc for startup. Run Disk Utility again. Sometimes you get a tangled file reference that requires several tries to undo - this could be calling the sleep routine instead of what it's supposed to do.

VPCSA does not properly go to sleep / hibernate

My advice is to shut down and unplug the Laptop when not in use. Set the Power Options to High Performance, set Sleep and Hibernate to never, adjust your Advanced Power to shut down when lid is closed. A reboot everyday resets the computer and IF there is a Power Surge your Laptop will not get fried. If left plugged in the battery COULD malfunction and become a fire hazard. Not to mention the unnecessary power applied to components and shortening their lifespan.

This might sound a little stupid, but 1 is it plugged in when you put it sleep mode, and when u open the screen do you physically have to turn it back on. Sometimes when you put a computer in "sleep mode" and its not plugged in you lose power slowly

Says "wireless network connection adapter is disabled" but I did nothing- It just stops working :(

your wireless card and everything is fine.the problem is very clear.1> if you are using windows 7 switch over to xp or any linux based operating system.i would suggest you to switch over to windows xp sp3.there are many problems arising out of windows 7 now a days.2> do you have any antivirus software installed? if yes then check it's settings if it is terminating the connection.3> if you dont have any antivirus softeare installed, then install it because virus may prevent you to connect through wireless system and may block the operation.it will also slow down your pc and many applcations are to be found 'not responding' and it will bound you to restart the system.it may also lose some data like password and username which you need for automatic sign-ups.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------post your result here.also tell me the details of your computer so that i can solve it much in a better way!

I do not recommend sleep mode for windows because it eventually causes windows files to corrupt because of in proper shutdown, forcing you to do a full install of the operational system.

I pressed the sleep button on my logitech S510 cordless keyboard and nothing will wake the computer. Not even restarting it. once it reboots it goes into sleep mode.

shut down and unplug the keyboard transmitter from the pc. now remove any batteries from the keyboard and depress several keys insuring the drainage of any stored voltage. reboot pc without the keyboard and then if haulted by error or after booting to windows shut it down, replace the batteries in the keyboard the plud in the keyboard transmitter and restart making sure all components are connected properly. this should rest the keyboard and the system as well.

When my computer goes into sleep mode, I lose my wireless connection. I have to turn off my computer to regain the signal. I cannot restart my computer and get the sign again. I have to totally shut down...

This is a feature of windows it's not a problem. Your settings can be changed in:

[Vista]
Control Panel>Mobile PC>Power Options
On the left side of the screen you will see "Change when the computer sleeps" click that, then click Advanced.
You will see the wireless power options in this panel.

If you need I can put some pics on my site to help walk you through it or if you have a different OS let me know XP is much the same.

Hope this helps...

Dell Inspiron 530 randomly shuts down and restarts

Sounds like it could be a virus. Or, a heat buildup problem - are all fans inside machine working? Is the fan inside the power supply operating? Was there any work done inside the computer recently?
If the hdw is all ok, go out and buy yourself a copy of Norton Internet Security 2009 - 1 user lic - $49.99 @ Staples. Do *not* buy any earlier vers. of this software! Install, update it, run computer computer scan - probably will find/remove some/many viruses.

If this helps, please take the time to rate my response to you.
Thanks and good luck.
