The choice of a Sound Card is very individual --- what sort of sound you're looking for and how much money you're willing to spend. A simple sound card may be $20, and an elegant 7.1 sound system will be considerably more expensive. It is VERY much your decision! Go to a store like Best Buy and look around, asking questions of the Sales Staff.

How to change a usb port or add one

depends...a lot of them are integrated on the motherboards whcih makes replacing them, for the average user, impossible. I suggest you get a USB PCI expansion card that usually has 3-5 ports in it. unplug the computer, open the computer, install the card in the slot, close it up, plug in and restart. Then install the software that came with the card and that will give youmore USB ports. Good luck!

No audio

if your pc does not have audio there are usally only two reasons 1) bad sound driver 2) BAD sound card. youcan go to the manufacturers web site to download the latest driver for your machine if that doesnt work try windows update. Sometimes Windows update has hardware updates. If that fails buy a new sound card.

Motherboard sound and old speakers

what really matters is the quality of the usb speakers. check specifications such as wattage first and find reviews if possible. however usb speakers will probably not come close to separate speakers. i'd recommend buying a cheap sound card ($20 or so). these work great overall. $20 spent on a sound card will be a better trade off than $20 spent on speakers. just use your old speakers with the new sound card and you'll have plenty of power. after this i'd recommend headphones as they work great in this case. finally moving the sound card would probably work fine, but i have doubts.

hopefully that helped

Sound problem.

SAMMY44,I have the same computer, and the same problem...we need to find the right AC-97 codecs for this type of computer...I found this out by typing the motherboard number on google..Its a real pain in the but to find the codecs for the onboard sound card...your best bet is to buy a pci slotted sound card,or other wise,,you can be like me,,and try try to know your computer on the inside.and try to find the codecs yourself that way if you ever run into this problem again,,you'll know what to do!!!
