Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Ink light blinks red after I have properly installed cartridges

When you say the red light blinks after you have properly installed cartridges, I must ask you one question. Are you installing a brand new cartridges or cartridges that you have refilled or had someone refill for you? On one hand , if you're installing new cartridges your problem is going to be in the software inside the printer itself. If you are using refills the problemand is the cartridge itself , as there is a chip on the cartridge that you can't reset or program.

Inkjet refills

hi,

as you are using a refilled cartridge, it is causing this problem. the thickness of ink in a hp genuine cartridge and a refilled cartridge varies. and also the refilled cartridge may make your printer faulty. so it is good to try with a new hp genuine ink cartridges.

thanks and regards

Problem printing photos

When printing a photo make sure that your quality is set on best and not normal.

Also check the ink level on your colour and black cartridges and make sure it is sufficient.

Last but not least if you are using remanufactured or refilled cartridges this is a common problem. The cartridges are not made for the printer or they have been refilled and they now have blocked printheads and the ink is doing interesting things. If you buy a real hp cartridge and it should clear the issue up.
