According to the specifications, it "should" support 1280 x 800.

Try updating the video driver at:

Re: High resolution display drivers needed

You will need to connect an external monitor that is capable of a higher resolution. Sound like the native resolution of the LCD panel in the notebook is 1024X768, not uncommon for 15" laptops.

Hi. You can get it here:

One you are there, choose Laptop and Netbooks, Thinkpad T-Series laptops, Thinkpad T30, 2366, then choose the model (or just all model), then choose your OS (Windows 7 starter? home? ultimate?)

Once done you can choose your audio driver and download/install it.

I recently installed a series of drivers for my Vaio VGN-TZ17GN running XP and while all others work fine, the video driver has reset the display resolution from the original 1366x768 to 1024x768 and...

If you're using the newest driver, it should support the physical display's maximum resolution. If your old display driver worked fine, roll back to it. If you can't, then you need to contact Sony to find out where to get the proper driver.

How 'll i get a ethernet driver for IBM thinkpad R50e from internet

If you're using a modern operating system (XP, or Windows 7), it should be able to find the drivers automatically.
For older Operating systems, look here
Unfortunately if the modern ones don't work, you may be out of luck. Older hardware like that isn't supported well.

I install window 7 but my benq 15" lcd monitar's screen rosuation not competible. pls guide me how i increase the rosulation thnx

As for your 15" LCD BENQ Monitor, "1024 x 768" pixels is the Maximum Resolution
If you increase your screen higher than the Maximum resolution you get a black screen! because the monitor cannot support the resolution higher than "1024x768" pixels.

How to change your screen resolution Win 7-> Link

Here are typical resolutions for some popular screen sizes
19-inch screen (standard ratio): 1280 x 1024 pixels
20-inch screen (standard ratio): 1600 x 1200 pixels
22-inch screen (widescreen): 1680 x 1050 pixels
24-inch screen (widescreen): 1900 x 1200 pixels

Hope it helps.

My computer screen is smaller then the monitor. There is about an inch of black surrounding the screen. It was displaying fine yesterday with my current set up but i had to do the factory restore thing and...

First make sure dispplay screen resolution is set to 1024*768 .
For that go to start ->control panel->display->setings set screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply .
If it is already set to 1024*768 then press menu button of monitor and increase horizontal and vertical position also put the picture in center first then increase both H and V position then it will give good display.
Also make sure display driver installed and working fine.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

I have purchased new sansui kyuuten lcd. I have connected to computer but I am unable to increase the resolution of the graphics. Please give me some solution

The maximum resolution of any LCD is set accordingly to its specifications. You cannot increase the resolution i.e more than the maximum limit.

Advisable to check the specifications you want first before you buy anything.

Screen resolution too low.

You will need to compile the drivers. This is difficult but not impossible. Plenty of information on the Ubuntu Forums regarding this.
