That is a *VERY* old disk-drive, not a printer.
Modern disk-drives from MAXTOR are, for example, 200GB or 300GB,
namely about 1000 times as much capacity as the 245MB disk-drive.

Try any local computer-store that sells "used" hardware.
Probably, any hard-drive *SMALLER* than 8.4GB can be substituted, and still be compatible with your computer's motherboard.

Dimondmax22 stm3500320as 500MB juper setings for slave?

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to IDE-1 means Pri slave escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
you will have to have master with slave set up
you can find the jumper location next to the power on a hard drive and the settings for plastic jumper location is usually printed on the top of a hard drive
IDE-0 means Pri master ?
IDE-1 means Pri slave ?
IDE-2 means Sec master ?
IDE-3 means Sec slave ?

Hope this helps

How the jumper setting is done for maxtor n256j50

If this is an IDE/PATA hard drive then the jumper settings are marked on the circuit board.
MA = master
SL = slave
CS = cable select
If this hard drive is the one installed on the Primary IDE controller the the jumper has to be set to Master. If it won't boot up then the jumper needs to be set to Cable select.

If this hard drive is a second hard drive and is connected to the 2nd connector on the IDE data cable that is connected to the primary IDE controller then the jumper must be set to Slave.

If this hard drive is a second hard drive and is connected to the secondary IDE controller and there is no other drive on the IDE data cable other than this hard disk the the jumper can be set to either Master or Slave.
If there is a CD drive on this cable too then the drives on this data cable then the jumpers on each drive must be set differently, they cannot be set the same jumper setting.

Need jumper settings for both hard drives. PCb board has been replaced. Cannot rememebr the orgional settings.

Master (M) on the harddrive that came with the computer, Slave, (S, or SL), on the 2nd harddrive.

Don't see M, S, and CS, on the label of the harddrive? (CS is Cable Select)
Sometimes it's right on the edge, where the 40 pin flat ribbon cable plugs in. It will be letters raised in the plastic, of the harddrive body.

To find where to set the jumpers for these harddrives, I suggest you look at the label. Since you had the Printed Circuit board replaced, I'm guessing you know who made it, and what the model number is.

Some harddrive manufacturers,
1.Western Digital
2.Maxtor, (Maxtor is owned by Seagate now)
3.Seagate
4.Hitachi
5.NEC (No longer in business)
6.Quantum, (sold out to Maxtor)

Here are three links that are videos, and may help with setting jumpers, and setting up those IDE harddrives. (IDE is also referred to as EIDE, ATA, and PATA)
(If you have SATA harddrives, do not touch the jumpers, if any are present! These are for the factory. With a SATA harddrive, you can plug it/them, into ANY available SATA header, {Connector}, on the motherboard. Doesn't matter!)

Maxtor 20gb slave probs

on the IDE or "Connector" Side Of The hard disk there should be little peices of plastic with metal cenectors in them that close a circut between two pins there are two well used ways to set up a slave.. the main way that the manufactures say is the easiest is to set to cable select or "CS" the other way is to set to "SLAVE" or "SL" and that will allow you to use the second hard disk.. by the way make sure not to connect it to the same cable as the cd ,dvd or other wise known as the optical drive's cables... it will greatly decreasy that hard drives performance.
